It is a shame to see early onset dementia inflict someone like Jeff Fisher. I mean that's the only possible reason he could have hired him right?

Fisher also tried Chuck Cecil as DC in Tennessee. He's loyal, sometimes too loyal. He has a history of letting letting his staff fall apart, which really hurts the team

Let's just laugh at Dallas for a while.

Head Coach - Jason Garrett
Passing Game Coordinato[/Playcaller - Scott Linehan
Offensive Coordinator/OL coach - Bill Callahan
(All 3 run completely different Offenses)
Defensive Coordinator - Rod Marinelli
Assistant Head Coach Defense - Monte Kiffin

He played a zone defense and gave the WRs 15 yard cushions, it was idiotic. Finnegan, Janoris and Trumaine are very solid man to man corners, big reason why our secondary looked lost this year.

When your collegiate coaching trajectory takes you from the DC at Miami to the DC at Memphis it is probably a good indicator you're a career position coach. All he had going for him was being a DB Coach under Nick Saban.

And when you're the DB coach under Nick Saban you're not really the DB coach.

True but it also doesn't mean you can't coach, Jeremy Pruitt was the "DB" Coach under Saban and is a future stud in the coaching world.

Yeah, I was gonna say he's the exception. He had a quote before the NCG about how big of a chance Fisher took on him.

He needs to stop messing around and become our "blitzing" coordinator who replaces Fewell half way through the season.

Spags is definetly the defense coordinator in waiting. Wasn't he a real aggressive blitzer? peas is just so vanilla.

It was definitely a gamble. Honestly I could see him in the NFL real soon, the scheme he runs is almost too complicated for college kids to run and with the added practice time pros would have would translate wonderfully into the NFL. He more or less reinvented the 5-2 to beat the Spread.

They're the most popular franchise in America, they have the best stadium in America and they make money hand over fist. They aren't a complete debacle like the Raiders(10 straight losing seasons or so), they are simply mediocre despite higher expectations. Goodell has no interest, business or personal, in making Jones change how he does business.

Fans of certain sports teams have to accept one thing: There's nobody around who can fire the owner -- except maybe the Grim Reaper (which was completely necessary for the Chicago Blackhawks to become a championship hockey team).

Jones can't control himself. He needs his finger prints all over everything, just in-case if the Cowboys do make a run at the Super Bowl, he can take most of the credit. He is clearly an ego manic and is without a doubt the next senile Al Davis. Jones will continue to dig his franchise deeper and deeper into the abyss.

Jerry Jones is just so bad for the Cowboys. He has to constantly adjust and change things so the team never gets anywhere. His finger prints are all over the mediocrity that is the Cowboys. It's his team and he has every right to run it as he sees fit but he needs some football people to run that team and make the football decisions.

I don't get it when he says stuff like he's proud of his work or that this is some of the best work he's ever done. You've finished 8-8 three years in a row and you have one of the worst, if not the worst, salary cap situation in the league. And then he hires a defensive coordinator who got fired by his son after a terrible season and the coordinator he fired goes on to have tons of success at his next job. Shouldn't any of this be a sign to him that he's not good at managing a football team? I can't understand his rationale for managing his coaching staff the way he does. Since when has having that many authority figures around with the same title ever worked? When you throw out the AHC title to a ton of coaches there's so much confusion among players about who to really trust and who's really in charge. What good could possibly come from having three upper level coaches who all probably are going to want to be calling plays on offense? It's going to lead to so much confusion.

And I don't get why this isn't a bigger story nationally. This man is clearly incompetent based on recent history and makes mistakes that are clear to everyone else but not him. I guess it's because there's no one to hold him accountable because he's the owner and he reports to no one. There's no one who I guess has the clout or is unafraid to tell him no. But I feel like this should be a bigger story. Like does the media in Dallas like him for some reason? He has won Super Bowls, but I don't get how/if he can still get by on things from two decades ago. I don't get why more Dallas fans and people in general aren't pissed off at him for the way he manages the Cowboys.

I don't even count those as Jerry Jones' Super Bowls. They are Jimmy Johnson's in my mind.

I'd rather trade down and use the possibility of Sammy Watkins, Greg Robinson or Ha-Ha Dixon and Darqueze Dennard later.

tennesseean.com was told by Ken Whisenhunt and DC Ray Horton that the Titans defense will be a "hybrid 3-4", in which the alignment is the same as a 4-3 but one of the players on the end is an outside linebacker instead of a defensive end. The Patriots play the same defense. (I like to think of it as a "3-4 even".)

It's a 1 gap 3-4. The majority of the 3-4 defenses you see today are 1 gap 3-4 or a mix of 1 and 2 gap.

Basically there is literally no difference btw 4-3 and 3-4 anymore. They're dated terms. When you evaluate a defense now you need to talk about their gap strategy, that dictates how they will play.

The alignment is meaningless.

Or what the Hawks run. A 4-3 over...

4-3 defense with 3-4 concepts.
