9 years.
3 playoff appearances.
0 playoff wins.
losing overall record.
No you're right he should stay.
He is longest tenured HC without a playoff win. Ever.
He is a mediocre coach who will get you to the playoffs occasionally, but he cant coach his way out of a paper bag once the game starts. Leading up to the game he is fine. In game, he is bad.

For the BENGALS, this really isn't a bad thing. You've been a godawful team for more of your existence than not.
But he's not going to get fired. He didn't get fire after last year, so I don't really know what it will take.
Anywho:

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Bucs have their eyes on multiple former NFL coaches, including former Browns, Chiefs, Redskins and Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer, former Broncos, Bills, and Cowboys coach Wade Phillips, and former Vikings coach Brad Childress.

God damn, the Bucs don't want to win. Ever. Throw in Mike Sherman and Jerry Gray and holy god damn.
The Bucs are basically creating the list of "guys I'd never want at my head coach" with their actual list of head coaching candidates.

Until Mike Brown dies its the best we can do probably.
I know he wont get fired, I want him "promoted" to our first GM.
He isnt a good in game coach but is in fact good at evaluating talent.
This last draft Marvin and Jay fought the old basterd hard on who to take and Katie Blackburn (his daughter) and her husband, both hold high positions, fought alongside Marvin and Jay to take Dalton over Mallett.
Promote Zimmer to HC
Kevin Coyle to DC
Coyle has worked magic with our secondary once Hall went down.
Unfortunately you cant fix stupid, so some players still suck.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that they aren't just screwing with all of us at this point. This is so ridiculous that I half expect them to call a press conference and say: "Introducing the new head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brad Childress ... j/k y'all, nobody is really this stupid. We hired Cowher when nobody was looking."

OMG, it's that a ******* joke. Mike Sherman, Wade Phillips and Brad ******* Childress ? How can an organisation waste so much time on these idiot retreads. I get that they're looking for experience after the failure of the Raheem experiment, but couldn't the Glazers at least looks for guys who have, you know, some winning experience instead of looking for over-the-hill failed coach. Phillips and Childress if either of these two gets the job, I'm done with this team until the Glazers boys get the **** out of Tampa. Come back Malcolm :(
At least it looks like they'll interview Zimmer.

Schefter reported that the Colts “tried to hire” Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio, and that the Patriots mobilized to persuade Caserio to stay. Said Irsay in response: “Adam, don’t say I wanted to hire someone I never talked to or met .. MISLEADING .. come on, your better than that .. get your head in the game, son!”
Irsay seems to think that the story originated with Caserio’s camp. “That’s the way people get false promo about being so coveted just because they don’t interview somewhere; SHELL GAME .. leave us out of that BS,” Irsay wrote.

How do you own an NFL team and not know the difference between "your" and "you're"? Oh, that's right, daddy gave it to you.
Irsay is up there with Dan Gilbert as far as jackass owners go.

Hopefully, he thinks keeping Manning is the way to go and skips Luck.

Speaking of coaching changes....someone on the Bengals site actually thinks Harbaugh is riding off of Singletary's "success"

The 49ers did acquire a good amount of talent during Sing's tenure, but I think that was more correlation and not causation...
At any rate, Harbaugh is using that talent 1000x better than Sing ever could have dreamed.

I think Singletary set up the foundation but Harbaugh took the team to the next level. And I don't think the 49ers would be where they are today if Harbaugh wasn't there. I will say that.

I don't see a problem with Lewis as a coach. The roster is still nowhere near championship level and they still made the playoffs while having to play the steelers and ravens twice this year. I'd look more at the issues with building the roster than the coaching.

This would at least seem like the situation that would work the best. Sparano would focus on the offensive line while Haley could call plays and work with the receivers and quarterback. Reminds me of a Whisenhunt and Grimm situation.

Mike Nolan set up the foundation for that 9ers team...not Singletary.

the talent on that team is the result of Scot McCloughan and Trent Baalke. Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary are not the reason.

It will probably take his contract to expire again, to be timed with a disappointing year. Isn't Mike Brown super cheap? Probably doesn't want to fire a coach who he'd still have to pay.

That was last year.
He got a 2 year extension.
