Oh yeah, haha, forgot about Tice. He's technically the "run game" coordinator or some such thing. We're apparently going to do an "offense by committee" approach.

Hue Jackson fired because he wanted more control? Really? See what he did with the Palmer trade? He dug his own grave there.
I think the Raiders will target Winston Moss for Head Coaching candidate.

What will the Raiders do with Palmer and Campbell? Would a new coach be willing to take the flack of having Palmer suck for the rest of his career?

Sometimes, when that much is invested into those players (Palmer, 1st and 2nd rounder) you have to deal with it. Palmer will be back for another year and really, they don't have a pick until the 4th round now, so they can't really improve there team thorugh the draft that much. (they have a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round pick invested in 3 QBs right now from the 2012 draft).

It's going to be a rough spot for the Raiders next head coach.
I think you have to keep Palmer because there's really no one better available. They can't invest any more in the QB position than they already have. A decision will also need to be made on Terrell Pryor. Is he the long term answer? (I'd say hell no, but that might just be me...)
The Raiders next coach will have to suffer through a year where he'll be able to do very little because the team has no draft picks to work with.

Hue Jackson can be a very good HC/OC in this league. Surround him with his type of players and let him have some control and he can win games for you IMO. Good coach, sad to see him leave after just 1 season. By far our best HC since Gruden....

Yea that's going to be a toughie. Good thing is since it'll probably be a McKenzie guy he'll have a "free" year since McKenzie probably realizes we're in a **** situation right now.

They simply cannot reasonably invest more in the QB position. Flynn will probably demand a Kevin Kolb type contract and I don't think he represents a certain enough upgrade over Palmer to justify it.

I will be a tough job selling this job to a coach. "ok you have to have palmer at QB and you have no draft picks, good luck!"

If it's a guy like Winston Moss, as has been rumored, it wouldn't be too bad.
As was said, he'd be a McKenzie hire and next year would be a "free" year for him to get his feet wet.

Per Hue, McKenzie is going to gut the Raiders completely.
Also sounds like he'll weaken the Packers:
"McKenzie is going to bring in people from Green Bay that he trusts."
Of course, I approve of that.

At least a Raiders coach can expect more than a year with the club. I doubt McKenzie is going to run that FO the way that Al Davis did.

I wasn't derogatory towards him...I'm not sure if that can be considered a compliment.

Carson Palmer trade + power grab = ousted.
Maybe he deserved another year from a purely coaching perspective, you but you can bet he and McKenzie would have conflicted.
He'll get another shot somewhere. He should settle in as an OC somewhere for a year or two and allow his stock to recover.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, public comments from Jackson regarding his desire to exert greater influence rubbed owner Mark Davis and those advising him (e.g., John Madden, Ron Wolf) the wrong way.

Moss makes sense and I think there's a 75% chance he's the eventual hire, but the Packers and Raiders do both have a history of hiring HCs from the offensive side of the ball.
Also, I really hope McKenzie doesn't gut the Packers the same way that Holmgren did when he left. This must be a good day to be a Bears/Lions fan.

I wouldn't say that the Raiders history matters much at this point...All of the past moves were made by Al Davis. There's a new football operations sheriff in town.
