Ok, he is obviously short, but the guy just balls. He is currently leading the nation in rushing this year (first in total rushing yards, second in yards per game). He has just under 1700 yards thus far, and had 1649 last year.

WKU has been a much better team this season than they were in recent years, and are currently 7-1 in the Sun Belt. Still, Rainey is pretty much the center of their offense given the rather pedestrian nature of their passing game (their QB is still under 2000 yards for the season and hasn't managed to throw more TDs than INTs).
In spite of being in a pedestrian, one-dimensinal offense and having defenses key on him, Rainey has still managed to put up ridiculous numbers, and not just against Sun Belt defenses either (as these game logs from 2010 and 2011 show).

Thoughts on him? Worthy of a mid-round pick? Highlights below.

I have him pegged as a late round pick, but he can stay on an NFL squad for awhile IMO. Tough inside runner who does good work against tougher defenses too. Puts his head down and has some power, but just not the explosion or speed to deal with a poor offensive line. Not sure he can be a pro outside runner, but on a platoon as a #3 RB who can do decent with PT as needed, I like it.

Watch the Packers take him in the mid rounds and turn him into a situational star.

I haven't watched much of him, maybe 1 game and some highlights, but he looks a little one-speedish for a little guy. Maybe even downright slow.
