Terrell Owens to face three of the four mothers he has had children with on Dr. Phill tomorrow. Some clips are in the link as a preview for tomorrow's show.
Quote:
Former NFL star Terrell Owens will face off with the mothers of his children on the "Dr. Phil" television show Tuesday. Owens is expected to be confronted by the women, who accuse him of not fulfilling child-support obligations.
The wide receiver earned a reported $80 million over his 11-year NFL career but says that he has little money left. He has four children with four different women. Three of them will appear on the show.
The women accuse Owens, 38, of either coming up short in his monthly child-support payments or not paying at all. Owens said he was paying some $45,000 per month in child support at one time.

Each woman gets roughly $11,000 a month? That is ****** up. My parents are divorced and my mom got maybe $250 a month. I wonder if they even have jobs or what they do with the month. That seems criminal to have to shell out over $100,000 in child support.

The Giants have something like a 20 year waiting list for season tickets, I'm sure they'd be ok.

Yeah, I understand that child support is based on how much money the father makes and not based on how much the kid costs, but $11,000 is ridiculous. It doesn't cost $132,000 a year to raise a kid.

Thank you. They had one winning season in the 70s, and two in the 80's. During the years between Lombardi and Favre, 8-8 was considered a good season. The Bears also haven't exactly had the best of times year-in and year-out.
Also, TO is an idiot.

Yeah I'm sorry but I don't buy the "the stadium sucks" excuse either. I'd watch the Giants in a high school auditorium. And so would many fans out there.
Many teams embrace how terrible their stadiums are. The Vet was disgusting. It's like a legend in Philly. Fenway isn't exactly the most technological place in the world and it's iconic. Lambo Field has benches. They don't even have seats. They have benches. Can you imagine how the people of Southern California would react to that?
Not having a new stadium is such a joke of an excuse. So when that stadium gets old in 3 years, then what?
I seriously hope LA never gets a team.

However, when you experienced the drought as badly as San Diego had between 1995 and 2004, combined with the variables that Ness mentioned, it doesn't matters at all.
|
Precisely. There are other factors attributing to San Diego's problems with attendance other than people in the region having a natural instinct embedded in their blood to avoid football games.

Nobody should feel any sympathy for those women. They knew what they were getting into from the start. They've gotten more than enough to suppor the child. Shut up and move on. You ****** an NFL superstar. Be happy that he gave you more than an autograph.

im siding with TO here, the dude is broke...he should have to pay a wayyyy more reasonable amount in child support considering hes already paid enough to put them and all their mothers through college.
these low class whores need to die in a fire

From 1996 to 2004, the Bears had one year where they weren't under .500, but they've sold out every home game since the late part of the 1982-1983 season.
Am I really reading stories about how constantly being one-and-done in the playoffs keeps San Diego from filling the stadium?
Not really going to buy the "going out and doing things" defense of those fans, either. Chicago's got more to do than San Diego. We don't sit on the couch all year waiting for the Bears games to start.

Even when the team does well they can't sell out the stadium.
When they went 12-4 in 2010 and were a favorite to go the SB, they almost blacked out their playoff game! Their freakin playoff game! And a good 40% of the crowd were Jets fans!
How pathetic is that? Again, I'm sorry if I'm being rude by saying this, but the fanbase out there is pathetic. I know there's hardcore fans out there, but there's no denying that the majority of the people out there aren't real fans, and they don't deserve a football team.

so true. you sit on the couch all year waiting for the two week period of time when it's not -60 with an 80 mph wind, or 120 degrees with 500% humidity.

Summer's starting soon. Someone hold me.
...but, still. We're happily paying hundreds of dollars to sit in our outdoor stadium when it's -83 degrees with 140 mph winds.

The Bears also have the smallest stadium in the NFL. Selling out 61,500 is a lot easier compared to 71,000. The Bears have also been around for like, 100 years or something. Everyone in that area, nearly 3 million people, has grown up with the Bears.
The Chargers filled over 90% of their home games last season in terms of attendance, drawing in an average of over 65,000 people per home game. At least according to these rankings.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance/_/sort/homePct
This was better than a lot of other midwestern places like Cleveland, St.Louis, Cincinnati, and Washington (east coast). I guess those folks are "fairweather" too.
Perhaps ESPN's rankings are completely off though.
