Andrew Luck and Matthew Stafford? I don't see that at all.

Not to mention, I don't much agree with many of your other comparisons.

Luck could only wish to have an arm that Stafford has.

These comparisons are bad.

I'm sorry, but this is terrible.

Stafford had one of the strongest arms ever for a qb prospect. Luck's is good, not great. Luck also has about 2 inches on Stafford.

Tannehill - Cutler isn't bad if you're one of the ones blinded into thinking he has a chance in the NFL. Kyle Boller or Chad Henne is much more fitting.

B.J. Coleman to Trent Edwards is beyond terrible. Coleman has arguably the best arm strength in this class, whereas Trent has one of the weakest arms in the game.

Russell Wilson doesn't compare to anybody in the NFL right now, to be blunt. Wilson is a Brad Banks clone. I loved both as college players, no chance in the NFL.

And Kellen Moore comparing to Seneca Wallace is the biggest joke ever. Seneca is one of the best athletes for the position in the league, whereas Kellen is a below average athlete. Like Wilson, Moore doesn't really compare with anybody. The guy is 5-11, 190 with a noodle-arm and small hands. Only other quarterback ever at that size that I'm aware of is Doug Flutie, and he was a far superior athlete. Point: Kellen Moore will never be successful in the NFL.

Right. these comparisons are off, and a bit rushed.
But how do you guys feel about the actual rankings/projected rounds?

Luck: Matt Ryan

RGIII: Mix. More athetic, but his passing skills and accuracy remind me of Aaron Rodgers. I think he's a better player than Randall Cunningham, that's my projection.

Tanehill: He looks like a Derek Anderson type stature, but is more athletic.

Osweilter: Skeleton. I think you got that one right.

Weeden: Difficult prospect to compare , but in my opinion, he's close to a kevin kolb comparison.

If you're comparing RG3 to Aaron Rodgers, I think Luck deserves to be compared to someone better than Matt Ryan. Luck for one is WAY more athletic then Ryan. I would say Luck compares to an athletic Peyton Manning.

Thing is, I don't know how much Luck seperates from RG3. Griffin is more accurate, has a better arm, throws a better deep ball, and more athletic.

Luck has a bigger build, has a good, but not great arm, is accurate as well, but I think RG 3 beats him in this department.

I seriously don';t think Luck is this once in a lifetime or decade type prospect either. Stafford was a better prospect coming out in my opinion.

I think the discussion of who's the top QB in this draft is closer than you think. Griffin is just as intelligent of a QB as Luck, and I think he could be better.

So, you think there is only one decent QB in this draft. Not sure I can disagree that it is a weak class, but you've got to admit Weeden is more talented than Weinke. I don't think many will agree with the Shaun King comparison for RG3 either; I'm one of his detractors, and even I think that is harsh. I suppose you're only being as overly negative as most people are overly positive though.

I know it sounds funny (very funny), but I think a good comparison for Luck is actually Cam Newton*. I thought this last year too, (I scouted Luck before he declared he was coming back). Obviously Cam is a better runner, and I believe Luck is a significantly better passer, but both are very good at the other part, and their game relies on both. I have quibbles with both of them, but it is impossible to deny their talent, and worthy number ones.

*Additional Note in the Crazy File: I think Jerome Bettis and Priest Holmes were similar as runners. The both were straight ahead runners with a good burst, lacking somewhat in their top end (obviously Bettis moreso) but with great vision. In the end though, when I saw them run, it just looked similar.

Yeah, pretty much. I mean, there might be 1 or 2 of these other QB's that end up exceeding expectations or something. But in general, I think the reality is that most of these guys end up just like 95% of the QB prospects that came before them.

If Weeden is more talented than Chris Weinke, it's not by much. It's not like there's the Grand Canyon between them or anything like that. Weinke was absolutely amazing the year he won the Heisman Trophy. I think Weinke did it against much better defenses than Weeden faces in the Big-12. I remember when Weinke lit up Duke and Clemson both for over 500 yards through the air. It's the whole age and baseball factor that obviously makes them similar, along with 2 years of legitimate production.

Weinke had (two) 500+ yard passing games, (two) 400+ yard passing games, and (three) 300+ yard passing games.

Weeden had (one) 500+ yard passing game, (three) 400+ yard passing games, and (five) 300+ yard passing games.

Their Senior seasons are very close; But again I think Weinke did it against better defenses.

Weinke - 61.7%, 4,167 yards, 33 TD's - 11 INT's, 163.1 QB rating

Weeden - 72.3%, 4,727 yards, 37 TD's - 13 INT's, 159.7 QB rating

Their Junior seasons are also comparable.

As for RG3, I think people forget how good of a prospect Shaun King was too. He lead Tulane to an undefeated season and lit it up in Tommy Bowden's spread offense. He wasn't quite as athletic as RG3, but King was athletic. He did lead the Bucs to the NFC Championship one year I believe, but kinda fizzled out. It wouldn't surprise me if RG3 has a similar career path. We'll find out.

Not comparing Andrew Luck to Peyton Manning = severely over-thinking things. You don't even have to like Luck as a prospect, but they look exactly the same in almost everything they do.

No way is Griffin more accurate than Luck. The only advantages Griffin has over Luck is athletism and arm strength. Thats it.

I like Griffin's deep ball accuracy better than Luck's but Luck's short and intermediate accuracy are much better.

Agreed. Many of these are just off. RG III is closer to Aaron Rodgers than Mike Vick, but not all that close.

Also, Weeden is a high 2nd, possible 1st. He grades top 10, but slides back that far. Teams will pay a 2nd for an eventual starter, even a short term one. That goes double for QBs.
