That is awesome. I'm really glad to see he was able to improve his time. I think everyone knew he was faster than the 4.98 he ran at the combine. Even if it's somewhere in between the two times, a 4.80 at 266 with his exceptional 6.90 is still very nice.

On another surprising note, apparently Bernard Scott ran a 4.34 at his pro day.

Bernard who?

...From the same article:

"Meanwhile, defensive end Morkeith Brown ran a 4.68 in the 40-yard dash.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder also bench pressed 30 times and had a 32-inch vertical leap and a 9-11 broad jump. "

Those are certainly a collection of triangle numbers worth mentioning.

FWIW:

"Senior DE Morkeith Brown is the oldest Owl on this year's roster and one of the team captains. The 6-foot-6, 260-pound defender is 26 years old who has taken a roundabout road to D-I football. Following graduation from Central Dauphin (Pa.) East High School in 2003, Brown enlisted in the Army and served in Afghanistan. After three years in the Army, Brown worked briefly as a forklift driver at Pepsi before enrolling at Lackawanna College for one semester (spring 2007) prior to enrolling at Temple. Smith, who has already an undergraduate degree from Temple in criminal justice and is taking graduate degree classes now, is a starting defensive end for the Owls and had two tackles, one sack and one forced fumble in Temple's 42-7 win over Villanova on Sept. 1." - The Sports Xchange

When I see a prospect who ran a 4.50 at the Combine , run a 4.35 at his pro day, all it tells me is that Temple has an extremely fast track and forces me to adjust Morkeith Brown's time accordingly.

That is the trouble with pro days, scouts and GM's no doubt, over the years, have established what a 40 time means at each track and handicaps them accordingly. Unfortunately, I don't have their handicap system which makes me question unusual times like Pierce's which I feel is just used to handicap other Temple prospects.

Wilkerson made Temple an interesting school. They didn't run worse, and that's all that really matters.

Temple's track was probably responsible for most of the .15 second boost to Pierce's 40-yard dash, but even if Morkeith ran in the 4.8 range that would be impressive. Seems like he's earned a late-round flier from someone. Great broad jump number.

Some people that I've been keeping my eyes on: RB Baron Batch- Texas Tech Senior 5' 10" | 210 lbs. Possible Measurables: 39" Vertical, 10' 6" Broad, 40 yd. High 4.3's-4.4's, career average of 5.4 YPC Quote: At the NFL combine two weeks ago in Indianapolis, only two of the 32 running backs had a higher vertical jump than what Batch did Thursday and only one had a broad jump that matched his 10-6....

Vinny Curry is an animal, definitely should go in round 3.
Bernard Pierce is a top 5 RB prospect and should go as early as the 2nd.

Pierce is hard to evaluate. He almost never blocks or catches passes out of the backfield, so it's difficult to tell how soon he'll be allowed on the field. He has size and excellent timed speed, but the speed doesn't really show up on tape. I feel like he's tentative as a runner and waits too long for holes to develop instead of pounding ahead for four or five yards a clip. He also runs very upright which will expose him to big hits in the NFL. Definitely very talented though.

Tough to say really; Curry didn't post very good numbers athletically at the Combine and played against mediocre competition. 3-4 teams should pause when considering him as a linebacker. I agree with you that Curry would be a solid pick in the second round for someone but he could slip as well.

I think he's pushed himself back into late first consideration.

Alex Hoffman-Ellis, LB, Washington State.
- 6'0 235, 4.55, 36 reps. Should get him drafted. Was very productive on an awful defense.
- WRs Greg Childs and LaVon Brazil boosted their stock a lot. Both could go as early as round 4.
- TE James Hanna is a beast, top 5 Tightend.

everyone knows Luck and Griffin will be a Colt and Redskin. The only thing worth watching if you aren't a fan of one of those teams is how Fleener, Wright, and Martin do ....but mostly just Wright for me.

Cody Pearcy stole the show during the Alabama State pro day. Pearcy, a Division III all-American receiver who registered 44 receptions for 766 yards and 8 touchdowns last season, turned in a workout that would've made combine king Stephen Hill jealous. His numbers included 4.31 seconds in the 40, 3.76 seconds in the short shuttle, 6.7 second in the three-cone, a vertical jump of 44 inches and 10-6 in the broad jump. Only his marks in the broad jump and three-cone were bettered by receivers at the combine."

He had over 1,000 yards receiving his junior year and 12 tds on 55 catches. Maybe the next Garcon? anyone know anything about this kid? He is a little on the light side but his measurables are great.
