Megaton extended 7 years
No word on the amount yet, but rumblings are that it is pushing 140 million.

That's a lot of money but if there's a player in the nfl that's worth it, it's Calvin.

Calvin's been my favorite draft prospect since I started paying close attention to the draft, and this deal shouldn't surprise anyone. He will be a top 3 WR for mostly all of that contract as long as Stafford stays healthy.

Sounds like a really complicated contract, but good. Glad we have him locked up.

My exact thoughts as well. When I saw that man live at GT I knew I would have to follow him for life. Such an animal. Then they got Stafford too so hello Lions bandwagoner since 07 lol.

The Lions locked up WR Calvin Johnson on Wednesday with a seven-year extension worth $113.5 million, according to league source.
The contract includes an existing roster bonus of $4.5 million that was due in the final year of Johnson’s rookie contract. The bonus was due on the second day of the new league year, and the extension was not done in time to void the final year of his rookie contract. The full eight-year package is worth roughly $130 million.
The contract also includes $53 million guaranteed, with his $1.25 million base salary in 2012 as well as $36 million in signing and option bonuses guaranteed. There is $11.5 million in future salary guaranteed for injury only.
Johnson could void the deal after the sixth year, but the Lions could also buy those years back if they pay him $3.5 million and a guaranteed $7 million in future salary at the end of the contract.
It’s a complicated structure but it’s a deal that had to happen. Johnson was set to count for more than $20 million against the salary cap, and the Lions had to create relief.

Damn that completely breaks the mold. If any non-QB is worth it, it's probably Megatron. But I'm not sure any non-QB, or maybe any QB, is worth it.

Typical Cowboys fan, he lives through Fantasy Football.. it's the only chance Cowboys fans have at enjoying some form of playoffs.

His agent (they usually make 9-10% right?) just made almost 13-14 mil.
I need to be a agent.

I was under the impression most sports agents make like 3%.

It varies per deal.
Obviously, a guy who basically walks in and signs UDFAs and late round picks won't get very much but may get a high percentage.
A guy who has a commodity like CJ may get a low percentage, because even 1% may be a million dollars.
