4 13(97) Vince Newsome DB Washington
from N.Y. Giants

I went with the 2007 draft because it's within the Free Agency Era, but the best 49ers draft in my lifetime is easily 1986 (and they didn't even have a 1st round pick) AMAZING!!!...

2 Larry Roberts Alabama
3 Tom Rathman Nebraska
3 Tim McKyer Texas-Arlington
3 John Taylor Delaware State
4 Charles Haley James Madison
4 Steve Wallace Auburn
4 Kevin Fagan Miami (FL)
5 Patrick Miller Florida
6 Don Griffin Middle Tennessee State
8 Jim Popp Vanderbilt
9 Tony Cherry Oregon
10 Elliston Stinson Rice
10 Harold Hallman Auburn

To get 8 starters on a two-time Super Bowl Champion is pretty much unheard of.

That was a good draft. Rathman was a beast, McKeyer was volid, Taylor was great compliment to Rice, Haley Fagan were good pass rushers, Wallace was a Pro Bowler I believe, and Griffin started many years opposite of McKeyer. If not mistaken, didn't Cherry and Hallman contribute as well?

Houston Texans 2006

Dream draft. Every pick made an impact on the team except for Spencer who was hurt. Very depressing offseason for Houston, considering that we lost the top 3 players from this draft (Williams, Ryans, Winston).

1(1) Mario Williams, DE, NC State - Pro-bowler, proved everyone wrong by being the better pick than Vince Young or Reggie Bush would've been)
2(33) Demeco Ryans, MLB, Alabama - Captain of the defense, defensive rookie of the year
3(65) Charles Spencer, OT, Pitt - Very promising o-line prospect who suffered a horrific leg injury two games into his career that cost him 2 seasons. Bounced around to a couple of teams later, but was never the same.
3(66) Eric Winston, OT, Miami - One of the better RT's in the NFL.
4(98) Owen Daniels, TE, Wisconsin - Pro Bowl TE when healthy
6(170) Wali Lundy, RB, Virginia - He started some games at RB his rookie year, then got cut the next training camp. He's now pursuing a rap career.
7(251) David Anderson, WR, Colorado State - He was one of our top 4 WR's for 5 seasons.

The giants only had 4 picks in the 05' draft. Three of those picks were
2nd. Corey Webster
3rd. Justin Tuck
4th. Brandon Jacobs

Pretty solid.

Man I can't even think of the last GREAT draft for the Rams. I mean it's to early to tell if 2010 is really a great one, potentially they got their Franchise Quarterback and Franchise Left Tackle.

The last three have been decent, nothing special. And then the three before that I don't even think we have any players drafted on the current roster.

1998 was probably the last GREAT rams draft.

1. Grant Wistrom DE
2. Robert Holcombe FB
3. Leonard Little DE
4. Az-Zahir Hakim WR
4. Roland Williams TE

At least they were smart to grab State or Washington guys.
