I would not be surprised if he cracked the top 20. However, I envision him to be more of a late first, early second option.

A surprise option would be at #10 with the Buffalo Bills.

Honestly I see him as a late 1st round value but there just aren't that many teams who have a big need at TE, especially when compared to other positions. The only teams I see in the 1st are maybe SF (not a huge need with Davis & Walker) or the Giants at the end. Maybe a team does fall in love and trade up to that late first area, there are always teams who miss there guy and want to trade back and get more picks.

I could easily see him go top 20. It's a copy cat league and the success of teams like New England and Green Bay using tight ends so succesfully raises his stock. It wouldn't surprise me if Fleener had more of an impact in a passing game than some of the top rated wide receivers.

This is what i've been saying. For a San Francisco to play him opposite Vernon Davis makes more sense to me than drafting the 3rd or 4th best WR in the draft. On second thought i'm a Seahawks fan so forget about it.

It would not shock me if the Bears took him at 19, all though I would love a trade down, because Mike Tice's offense features the TE and right now we have the unproven and stiff Kellen Davis.

Fleener could fill a Jermichael Finley type role for the Bears where he is essentially a huge slot WR.

With the evolution of the TE position, teams are now trying to develop a new weapon. No one ever bothered to think about how devastating a pair of TE's could be to the gut of a defense. Probably because there were so few TE's with the kind of athletic ability that they have today. So if that is the direction a team wants to go in, then I think Fleener is very good player to start with. That being said, if you don't have the wideouts to command attention on the outside it is much easier to handle a pair of TE's. So if a team wants to build a really explosive passing offense using two TE's, then you kind of need both.

A perfect example would be Cincinnati. Yes, they have other needs and this won't be happening. But if they were to take Wright and Fleener at #17 and #21 they would have all the pieces in place to have a high octane offense that would be really difficult to game plan for.

So, to make a short story long, both:-)
