if you finish the wonderlic and pass, youre a genius. ive taken it and its pretty smooth at the beginning but gets tougher. the problem is its impossible to finish. they give you like 15 mins and theres 30 or so questions.
if a team passes on him because of this, its their loss

There is no way passing and completing the wonderlic makes you a genius.

Did I fall out of a time warp and end up in a bad 1980s movie?

Or your level of intelligence with your ability to play football.

He can tie a record score on the Wonderlic but can't tie his shoes...

It's 50 questions, and it's not timed. While the Wonderlic score does not necessarily reflect intelligence, it does take some intelligence to get a good score on it.
For the umpteenth time, it's not intelligence they are looking for when they administer this test. These guys are going to be exposed to certain extraordinary circumstances in their everyday life (i.e. dealing with fans, media, carrying around a lot of money), and the Wonderlic best gauges a persons ability to think critically and make good decisions.

Lol :)
He shouldn't move down past 6. Teams just need to be cautious and drill him in their interviews.

Maybe it's not supposed to be, but mine was timed when I took it during an interview.

NFL Wonderlic is timed, 100%. Not sure about other equivalent intelligence tests, but the one they administer to prospects is timed.
Regardless, there is no ******* way anyone who has spent any time whatsoever in an education system should get a ******* 4. That's just pathetic.

This thread is atrocious. Gardner's multiple intelligences and everyone ****. ESPN should be ashamed for reporting this 'story' when the kid has a documented learning disability. Many students succeed with learning disabilities. It takes courage for the kid to even take the ******* test seeing as how he's likely struggled with reading and test-taking his entire life.

His Wonderlic is lower than his 40 time, if anyone is wondering. That's funny right there.

Well now I just feel bad, I didn't know he had a legitimate learning disability. That changes the dynamic a little.

Bah, boo-hoo gpngc. What is this entire process about anyway? It's not about evaluating these kids physical, psychological, and emotional prowess is it? It's not about treating a large group of young men like pieces of meat in an auction? Face it, this is a part of the process and if the kid isn't up to snuff the team has the right to know about it before investing millions of dollars on him. And in turn, the media has a right to know about it as well, as documented in the first amendment of our Constitution.

Just for comparison purposes, Frank Gore also has a learning disability and he scored a 6.

I think its ******** that this info is even leaked. Poor kid has a learning disability, then its exposed for all the other numb skulls (like half of you here) to see.
Bill Polian said it best, the Wonderlic is strictly a benchmark. If they get a really low score, they will pass the test onto a team Dr who then looks further into the matter. 99% of the time it's a learning disability that can be dealt with.

It's no 6, but LaDainian scored a 13... Larry English scored 34, what gives?

Clearly, Larry English is a better and more productive football player then Ladainian Tomlinson ever was.

Blaine Gabbert supposedly scored a 42 on the Wonderlic and he couldn't play football if his life depended on it... he's smart enough to get his a** out of the way when a pass rush is coming :^)

A friend of mine is fond of saying, "When a football player gets a degree in Communication, he receives a BS. How appropriate."
As Forrest Gump said, "I played football for four years and and then got me this college degree."
That being said, IIRC the Wonderlick counts off for mistakes. Just guessing will give you a zero.

With his learning disability a low score like that shouldn't be that surprising. My cousin has the same type of LD and basically it just takes him way longer to read anything than everyone else, so as a result he gets 4.5 hours to write 2 hour exams. I wouldn't be surprised if Claiborne only managed to get through a third of the test considering how many people without a LD don't finish the test.
He should have access to a perscription for adderall though, so he's got that going for him.
