the team owners weren't really going to change their jersey, most probably wanted a technology advantage, which Nike has unlike Reebok.
Nike is at the forefront with using technology in their clothing, but they just have really dumbass designs.

Though if people would stop buying into the stupid heat gear moisture wicking fabric, makes them better. If you really want an advantage buy x-bionic clothing, that helps keep the moisture in, since your body sweats to keep you cool.

It's much more about the feel and technology of the new jerseys than anything else but yeah you're right.

The point of sweat is for the water to evaporate, which is an endothermic process. Which means it draws heat away from your body. Keeping the water in wouldn't make you cooler.

I imagine this is how the Seahawks' uniforms came to be:
Nike Exec: "Hey, I know! Let's take every single idea our design team came up with and incorporate it into one uniform - WITH NO REGARD FOR AESTHETIC SENSE! It'll be awesome!"
Nike yes man: "But..."
Nike Exec: "There will be a 'feather detail' in multiple places! Nike is the harbinger of innovation and transcendent style! JUST DO IT."
Nike yes man: "Oh...kay."
Nike Exec: "Don't stress about it; we've got an exclusive contract."

The nike swoosh under the numbers on the shoulders looks terrible. It doesn't work with the flow of the jerseys at all. I have no idea how that got approved.

Personally, I think Seattle's new uniforms are a significant upgrade over what they have worn the last few years. Those are ugly as ****.

I wasn't a huge fan of the old ones (did like the monochrome), but this was a chance to improve it and I feel like they made it worse trying to draw attention to themselves, instead of providing the team with something that felt like "Seattle." New, but keeping the same feel. Instead, they're just going to be a ******* Nike ad for the entirety of next season. Every ******* game, "Hey, how about those new Seahawks uniforms made by Nike?" ******* shoot me. They look like dogshit. NFL Europe had some better uniforms. At least the garishness wouldn't look out out place across the water.

Not at all, if the change actually looked good I would be all for it. As a Cowboys fan I wouldn't mind a completely different uniform after having the same one for the entire 50+ years of the franchise.
I'm just saying these Oregon copycat stuff just looks terrible in the professional game. The solid colors of the 80's look so much better. How can you honestly say these jerseys look better than what the Jets, Patriots, Bengals, Saints, etc. wore in the 80's? It looks good and expresses professionalism. Like they say, more isn't always better. Leave the sensationalism for college.
These in no way are better than the old school, simple uniforms. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. And the end of the day who cares, all that matters is the actually game that is being played, but these uniforms don't really look better and just scream "we're trying to hard."
With technology advancing the way it is uniforms should be looking better, not worse.

I agree we should only progress, and if you saw my write up you will see that I didn't like the Seahawks unis. I do like the look of the new Cowboys one that D-Unit posted.

One of my favorite jerseys is the Chiefs' throwback Dallas Texans jerseys with the state of texas on the helmet. Obviously they can't where that full time because they are in Kansas City now, but those jerseys are fresh.
The simple, straight forward jerseys that say "this is who we are" instead of all the bells and whistles just looks so much better to me. It's a football field not a fashion runway.

Yes but it didn't look weird because it's a symmetrical logo. The swoosh is off balance which makes it look odd.

Really though? The Nike swoosh is one of history's most recognizeable and impactful logos, yet you question it because of asymmetry? It's just the swoosh, man.
