To me, it just shows the level of obscenity that fans are willing to tolerate and says nothing good about Western Civilization as a whole, when we're ready to fully embrace bad human beings just because they are skilled athletes.

So feel free to hate away, I'm not alone in my opinion, only here on this very insignificant NFL draft forum.
perfect way to start out an opinion-based post. "whatever" hahaha

let he that is without sin cast the first stone. you seem to know janorris personally calling him a bad human being and all.

if smoking weed and having unprotected sex with girls makes you a bad human being, then our civilization is doomed. what do you think goes on at college campuses across the country?

at the end of the day NFL GMs are in the business of winning. NOT drafting the guy with the 4.0 gpa and volunteers countless hours at childrens hospitals. if you can play, you get drafted. the red flags just change your draft position.

and try not to throw a whole civilization under the bus when you're only talking to a handful of people. i bet 3/4 of the western civilization dont know or dont care who jenkins is. nobody is embracing a bad human being for being a skilled athlete. im just challenging the notion that he's sure fire gonna become a murderer or gang banger(or something more serious) because of his marijuana usage.

i think his love for marijuana and sex are being way overblown. not everyone is squeaky clean. but im tired of defending a guy i dont want my team to draft lol

That's the same mistake everyone is making. I'm not taking a stand on this guy. I'm simply expressing my disinterest in players with such an obvious lack of any moral fiber. I'm not sitting here claiming to know he's going to end up like Pac Man Jones or anyone else. My point is simple. I wouldn't waste a 1st round draft pick on a guy like this when there are other perfectly good football players available.

I can understand questioning his decision-making skills and thinking he's not worth the risk. But a guy getting high doesn't make me question his moral fiber. Come on.

Again, not a morality contest here. I understand the concern but I also understand his talent.

Bad human beings eat people.
Janoris Jenkins just likes to party and get a little groovy time to time.
being a pro athlete is tough, let the men do their drugs.

That's what a message board is. You put out your opinions and people agree or disagree with them. It crosses a line when people attack other people instead of just the opinions themselves. I've not seen that happen here.

I'd rather have a team of choir boys as an owner as well, but at some point I'd probably get tired of going 6-10 every year and actually want some people who are better at playing football. NFL GMs and owners learned this a long time ago. The scale continues to slide towards talent over temperance and I can't see it changing in any significant way for a long time.

Me get over myself? Im not the one on my high horse coming at the ethics of Western Civilization. I made the assumption you were lost based on your opinion and how it goes much deeper than Jenkins himself or the NFL for that matter.

I was watching Doomsday Preppers and some guy was predicting worldwide chaos following a polar shift. Another lady was predicting worldwide chaos if China calls in the massive US debt. I laughed at these looney folks. Then a third guy predicted the fall of Western Civilization if Janoris Jenkins was drafted. I **** my pants.

I then rushed out and bought a bunch of bottled water and canned tuna.

I'm not too concered about the smoking; i'd bet over half the league has smoked some point in time during their career.

The multiple kids with different women is also a little off-setting. (Comon now, you can't find some hoes on bc?)

No doubt he may be a gamble, especially if he's smoking all day and not giving 100% to practice/film.

Still, put me in the gambler side, as I'd take a chance on this kid in the early 2nd and maybe late first.

I wouldn't be mad if the Bears end up with him somehow.

It's hysterical that some people still watch Reefer Madness like it's a legitimate information resource.

I feel a little smarter every time I come back to this thread.

My opinion on the subject:

1. The weed issues are issues that must be addressed and are being addressed which is why he is a top 25 pick as oppose to a top 15 pick

2. The idea that there are people fiending for pot going through detox is laughable.
