Default Cal's Marvin Jones and Michael Calvin - Views?

Say, I happened on this video but what about Marvin Jones (who did really well in the NFL Combine) and Michael Calvin, who ran a 4.3 40-yard dash, but I hear he's injury-prone. Is Jones 2nd round material? Is Calvin a reach in round 2, considering his speed?

He had one TD in 4 seasons at Cal and started less than 10 games. He missed 24 games with injury and played in 27.

Teams may overrate measureables enough to use a late-round flyer, but the 2nd round is just ludicrous.

He asked if Jones was a second rounder. Just maybe, I think he's more of a 3rd/4th.

I think you could quite easily justify Jones in the 2nd round. It's tough to say with this class because there is so much depth, there will be a lot of disparity in rankings after the top tier guys go.

I have Marvin Jones ranked as my number 6 WR...

1.) Blackmon
2.) Floyd
3.) Quick
4.) Wright
5.) Hill
6.) Jones
7.) Randle
8.) Jeffrey

This is a very good class this year - deep, talented, rich at the top, and solid all the way through. Being ranked 6th this year is a true mark of talent. He has a solid frame, put up great numbers at Cal with "questionable" QB play, and has an excellent burst and run after the catch ability. The reasons I am so high on him are his route running ability and catch radius. Jones is easily one of the best route runners in this class, running quick, clean, polished routes consistently. He also has some of the best body control in the draft, bending and contorting his body to make adjustments on poorly thrown balls.

Mark my words, this kid is a special talent and has the high character to boot. He'll be a second round pick no question, and nobody be terribly surprised to see him go at the end of round one or very early in round two, where I think there will be a lot of trading and teams making a run at all of these high end wide receivers.

As for Calvin, good 40 time, looks the part, but really doesn't deserve to get drafted. He'll get invited to camp somewhere though.

I am a big Marvin Jones fan, I think he will end up being the 3rd best receiver in this draft after Floyd and Blackmon.

Jones and Jarius Wright...beyond Blackmon I actually prefer them to pretty much anyone in the draft. A slightly ridiculous view, but REALLY like those two.

Jones could go in the 2nd and it would surprise no one. He's polished, savvy, has solid size, good numbers....good character and work ethic...not much to knock...maybe not as physical as some might like but again makes up for it by being smooth and savvy out there.

Can you at least support your thesis on why Jones is better than most receivers in this draft?

I'm a fan of his as well but I got absolutely nothing from that video
