Kendall Wright wants us to believe that every meathead football player on the offensive side of the ball at Baylor memorized 300 plays without having a playbook to study. Someone draws it up once in practice, boom, they've got it.



Thoughts, Redskins fans? If true, RGIII (and everyone else on that team) is pretty much a Rain Man genius and he should have been able to do some Peyton Manning type of crap at the line. Sure didn't look like a 300-play offense when I was watching. That's Mike Martz territory.

I wrote a 3 play playbook that would have worked at Baylor.

2. Kendall Wright Short
3. RG3 run.

Kendall Wright is either exaggerating the number of plays or the complexity of each play call for the wideouts at Baylor.

When the plays were called in from the sideline, there was probably a simple alpha-numeric system indicating where he was supposed to line up in the formation and the route he was supposed to run.

There may have been 300 play combinations run by Baylor on offense, but I doubt Wright memorized 300 distinct plays and NEVER had a playbook to study. That's hard to do no matter how smart you are.

Kyle and Mike Shanahan have already commented on what a smarty pants RGIII is and how he already has a much greater grasp on the playbook than any rookie QB he's ever coached.

It's not like the Baylor WRs had the play responsibility of the NY Giants WRs, who are expected to make the correct sight adjustments at the LOS and correct their routes based on defensive coverages. That's really difficult to do.

He was a 4 year starter. 300 plays drilled over and over to you during a 4 year period isnt the big deal you guys are making it out to be.

I agree with funbuncher, that system is probably a lot easier for all non-QB players. I can't imagine there were 300 different plays though, you can't just mix and match random routes together, route combinations are necessary especially with safeties and zone coverage.
