Well that is no good, not at all. Definitely makes me think back to the concussions, really a shame...

He's the 8th member of the 1994 Chargers Super Bowl team to die, most of them absurdly young.
RIP. I really was quite shocked when I saw this. More sad than anything else.

This is sad but also scary. I know my playing time was really hurt by concussions when I was in HS.

Wow, that's sad news.
I think this is going to play a big part in all those concussion lawsuits.

Sad sad news. He was an all time great. Don't wanna draw conclusions but suicide probably result of depression that might've had something to do with steroids or concussions. Seems like there are a lot of sad stories for former NFL players, which sucks because they are our heroes and they are on top of the world when they are in their prime.

I think too many people jump to concussions (myself included) but I wanna know what role steroids play...

Did he shoot himself in the chest so they could examine his brain like that former player last year?

Who puts Junior Seau's mom on TV in front of press and everything a couple hours after she finds out her son is dead? That's not exactly the best thing to see on TV..

Super saddened by this. I hope they can examine his brain to get more data on concussions.
If anyone out there is struggling with depression or has suicidal thought, please talk to some one. Just pick up the phone and talk. People want to help and your decision affects a lot more people than just yourself.

According to YahooSports it was indeed a gunshot wound to the chest that was the COD. No report of a suicide note or anything like that just yet..

Yeah, that was Dave Duerson of the 85 Bears and it crossed my mind too.
RIP Seau.

They'll blame this on concussions some how.

Somehow? It's a pretty big deal, I'm not really sure how you can just avoid that kind of thing.

First of all RIP Junior... and prayers to your family.
This is true. Alot of people are going to jump on concussions for why this happened. Besides how huge of a topic it has become (plus the lawsuits) things like this will kill the game. The NFL will end up as flag football.

OMFG!! Suicide, so very sad.
He must have been very depressed, they say it is a lngering after effect of too many concussions. May not have been related but there it is.
RIP, Junior Seau. San Diego should name places after him.

Agreed. Hearing it was a gunshot to the chest pretty much confirmed it to me that concussions will be blamed since it likely means he wanted to preserve his brain for study.
This is all so sad.

I'm sure the concussions do play a part obviously but it's true that I'd also like to know how much the steroids have to do with this. It's something you rarely hear mentioned though.
