Gladiator Game Thread - Game Killed

“LET THE GAMES BEGIN!”

The annual games have begun! The colosseum was packed to the brim with plebeians and the ruling class alike in anticipation. There was much feasting and celebrating and consumption of wine to be had. The death matches that would play out here over the next few days will be some of the most entertaining events that these people ever experience.

For the combatants, the battles were a source of great fear. Many were slaves...POWs and criminals taken far from their homelands and forced to battle each other to survive. In addition to the slaves, some professional warriors signed up to make sport and profit from killing the poor slaves, as well as sometimes one another.

The first order of business, as always, is to name the Imperator, the master of the games. All of the combatants will get one vote each. During the night, the Imperator will name one of the combatants for the next day’s battle. The other would be chosen by vote of the competitors themselves. The winner lives to fight another day, the loser does not.

The winner gets some added immunity as well. He can not be chosen by the same source two days in a row. So if he were selected by the Imperator one day and was victorious, the Imperator could not choose him again the next day. He could, however, still be voted by the town to fight.

The Imperator, once elected cannot be unelected. However, should he fail to defend his position in the arena if chosen by the other competitors, he will die and his position will be up for grabs once again. He is also bulletproof and can only die by losing in the arena if voted there by the town.
