Eh, let him take his lumps. They're a .500 team with Hasselbeck this year. If they win a game or two less, but get Locker a full season of experience, it'll be worth it in the long run.

Cary Williams turns down a $15 million extension offer from the Ravens in order to hit the FA market after this season. It's a big gamble but a free agent starting caliber CB can make a lot more money than that on the open market.

I'm glad Williams has that much confidence in his ability to produce, but I would take the deal. Williams made $780k over the first two years of his deal and $395k in 2010. He was an exclusive rights free agent in 2011 (salary of $330k, $405k, or $480k), and is playing under that $1.93 million tender this year. After taxes/agent expenses, etc. his career earnings for his first four seasons will probably end up being around $2 million or so. I'd take the long-term security at that point in his career.

The ultimate story of a guy who was nothing but the steroids he was taking. Once he stopped, he became an injury prone JAG.

You should note that I've been one of the biggest non-Giant-fan Eli supporters around the last couple of seasons.

I know this. It's just funny how storylines are created before anything fully plays itself out.

I mean, it's not like Rivers has been terrible though. If you swapped the two, keeping the rest of the Giants team exactly the same, there is still a good chance you've played in, and possibly won, at least 2 Superbowls over the same time frame.

Not so surprising after how late we saw him playing into the game on Friday. But honestly, he was our best OLB when we went 3-4 and I loved his attitude once he came here.
Looking forward, Kyle Moore has supposedly looked the part as our 4th defensive end.

I personally don't think we would have had the same success with Rivers. I also think the NY media would have ate him alive. Also, we would have had Big Ben anyway and not Rivers.

Eli's dopiness came in handy there at least.
But yeah, that year had 3 great QBs at the top. I would hate to have been the team that got stuck with JP Losman...

Wasn't Schaub the fourth QB drafted that year?
Edit: Errr...fifth. I meant to say fifth. Not enough coffee to do basic math this morning...

Excellent year of QB's. Probably the 2nd best ever besides 83 but with more time to go it could change into the best ever possibly.

Even 83 had 3 busts in the first round to go with the 3 HoFers.

I don't believe this is true. We talked about it about a month ago but for a couple years, the Chargers were widely regarded as the most talented team in the league. How many Super Bowls did Rivers lead them to? I'm sure some of it had to do with coaching but switch the two guys and I think San Diego is the team with two Super Bowls and the Giants probably don't have any.

Not if the Chargers were playing Marty ball or had Norv as the head coach still. Velociraptor Jesus couldn't QB a team with one of those guys coaching to a Superbowl.

He basically sucks compared to Marino, Elway, and Kelly; but Ken O'Brien was a two-time Pro Bowler in his own right.

Yeah, I have no witty counter argument. It's just in comparison to 3 of the GOAT, that feels so minor. Especially since he was drafted before one of them.

Tamba Hali will be suspended 1 game for violating the league's substance abuse policy per Rotoworld.

Adderall again? Seems to be the theme of the offseason. And with only one game, I have to figure he already appealed and got it reduced that. Typically, the first substance abuse violation is automatically 4.

What the ****? That is really shocking to me. He isn't someone that is associated with anything negative. What the hell. I want to know what substance it was.
