Yep. He was on the active roster and played for the Packers when they won the Super Bowl and he was on the active roster and played when the 49ers lost the NFCCG.

Smart, safe, playoff tested. If you need WR depth, he should be sonsidered.

The full Bears cuts:

Quote:
The Bears also terminated the contracts of six vested veterans: Quarterback Josh McCown, running back Armando Allen, linebacker Xavier Adibi, defensive end Chauncey Davis, receiver Rashied Davis and cornerback Jonathan Wilhite.

The Bears waived receivers Joe Anderson, Terriun Crump and Brittan Golden; tackles Cory Brandon, James Brown and A.J. Greene; cornerbacks Cornelius Brown, Isaiah Frey and Greg McCoy; guard Ricky Henry; safety Mark LeGree; defensive tackle Jordan Miller; tight end Brandon Venson; defensive end Aston Whiteside; and linebacker Jabara Williams.

Defensive tackle Nate Collins is still on the team but doesn’t count against the 53-man roster for Week 1 because he’s suspended for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Additional details on the Bills cuts:

Quote:
Things still haven’t become totally clear in terms of roles, but we now know the receivers that will make up the depth chart. The Bills cut wide receivers Kamar Aiken, Marcus Easley, Derek Hagan, Ruvell Martin and Naaman Roosevelt as part of their moves to make the 53-man roster limit, according to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News.

Hagan and Roosevelt each drew some good notices at points during camp, but the team obviously didn’t like any of them enough to keep space for them on the 53-man roster. That means David Nelson, Donald Jones, third-round pick T.J. Graham and sometime quarterback Brad Smith will round out the receiving corps.

Graham also reports that the Bills will not cut Tyler Thigpen, leaving him and Tarvaris Jackson as the backups for Ryan Fitzpatrick. Before the deal for Jackson, there was a thought that either Thigpen or Vince Young would be on the chopping block because of Smith’s versatility. Whether because of Jackson’s unfamiliarity with the offense or some other reason, the Bills decided they were better off with a third quarterback to start the season.

For the 49ers, I'd rather have someone with more upside though like Palmer.

Swain was in the playoffs sure, but it's not like he did anything.

Seeing Brian Hoyer there is still strange.

The Packers should put in a claim for him, but they're so low on the priority list I'd be surprised if they got him.

The Falcons swapped Chris Redman for Luke McCown earlier this week, and he'd be better than either of them as a backup.

The Cardinals should obviously be all over him.

He'd be an improvement over the Chiefs backup situation, and there is a Patriot connection there, so they're another possibility.

But watch him go completely unclaimed, just because it would be a mind ****.

Swain actually played in the Super Bowl. I don't remember if he caught anything, but I remember that he dropped a pass and had another drop that was on the cusp of being a fumble.

Green Bay just cut three WRs that I like more than Swain. A team would be better off signing one of those guys, even if they have less experience.

Broncos release Drayton Florence. Probably one of the bigger veteran cuts so far. Doubt he'll be on the market for long with how many CB needy teams there are out there.

That's just plain stupid. There is a 99.98% chance he makes it through waivers. There's no difference between having him on the 53 versus the practice squad, why waste the spot?

The Packers should grab Seneca Wallace. He's proven he can step in for an injured starter and play well. He also has experience under Holmgren and the west coast offense, though I'm not sure how much of that still carries over to Green Bay now a days.

All teams will likely see some guys hit the market they might be interested in, so the 53 there may not be the exact same 53 that is there for game 1.

Jets cut Terrence Ganaway:

Quote:
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, waiving running back Terrance Ganaway is one of the Jets’ final required moves. Mehta reports that the Jets want Ganaway back on their practice squad. So it sounds like they made this roster move begrudgingly.

Another one of the Jets’ last three moves was waiving/injured wide receiver Royce Pollard, who tore his shoulder labrum in Thursday night’s preseason loss.
And the Colts:

Quote:
To get down to 53 players, the Colts waived wide receiver Jeremy Ross, running back Darren Evans, tight end Andre Smith, tackle Mike Tepper, center Zane Taylor, tackle Steven Baker, defensive tackle Jason Shirley, linebacker Greg Lloyd, tight end Kyle Miller, guard Hayworth Hicks, linebacker Jerry Brown, safety Latarrius Thomas, defensive tackle Chigbo Anunoby, wide receiver Kashif Moore and long snapper Justin Snow. They waived-injured running back Deji Karim, defensive end James Aiono, linebacker Tim Fugger, cornerback Brandon King and safety Mike Newton. Fugger was a seventh-round pick in April and is the only one of the 10 Colts draft picks to get cut.

The Colts also placed wide receiver Jabin Sambrano and cornerback Korey Lindsey (pictured) on injured reserve and released tackle George Foster from IR on Friday.

Colts can't possibly go into the season with only one NT (Antonio Johnson), who is mediocre anyway.

I expect Grigson to pick someone up.

You know how Burfict made the Bengals? Well, he beat out former 4th round pick Roddrick Muckleroy for that spot.

Quote:
Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports undrafted rookie linebacker Vontaze Burfict has made the Bengals’ 53-man roster.

Meanwhile, Roddrick Muckelroy was waived. It sounds like Burfict and Muckelroy were competing for one spot as a backup linebacker and special teams player. Burfict beat out Muckelroy, who was a fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft.

Reedy has the full list of Bengals cuts: Muckelroy, running back Dan Herron, guard Otis Hudson, defensive end DeQuin Evans, tight end Colin Cochart, quarterback Zac Robinson, fullback James Develin, fullback Jourdan Brooks, wide receiver Vidal Hazelton, tackle Matt O’Donnell, center Reggie Stephens, defensive end/linebacker Micah Johnson, defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga, linebacker Grant Hunter, linebacker Emmanuel Lamur, cornerback T.J. Heath, and cornerback Chris Lewis-Harris.

Defensive tackle Nick Hayden was released with an injury settlement, while safety Tony Dye was placed on I.R.

The Colts have first refusal of any player cut in the league with less than four years experience until Week 3 so Grigson and Pagano should be able to find someone to bring in.

I expect Grigson to pick someone up.
I'm expecting either Jean-Baptiste or that guy from the Jets. Maybe both.
