Yeah the offense was putrid, but what makes me think they're going to drive down the field for field goals twice? Browns defense was playing lights out, a fluke touchdown or a good drive for a td doesn't kill you if you go for 2 and make it.
If they're able to get a touchdown you lose automatically by not going for two. If you go for two and miss the conversion, you lose from a touchdown (which you would have lost from anyways) and you lose if they some how can muster two field goals within that time frame... I think going for two was the better option, thought it during the game, and think it after we lost because we didn't go for two anyways.

That was assuming that you're sure of the star too. Player for player trades are somewhat rare in the NFL anyway, but since we were looking at the players the Browns got with those picks vs. the emerging star in Julio, I thought it was an apt comparison.
The Bears are a good example of this. Do I think not having the two firsts and a third we gave up for Cutler has hurt us in some other spots? Absolutely. They would have been great to have for our o-line or our aging defense. But would anyone we could have taken with those picks combine to make the impact on our team Cutler has? Absolutely not. In the last two seasons, when healthy, he went 11-5 and 7-3 with an NFC Championship Game appearance.
That was my main point. Give up the players (or draft picks) if you feel you are going to get a truly impactful player in return.

Switch Sharpe with Sanders and toss in Troy Aikman, then let all four of those guys call a prime-time Cowboys game together.
Nobody would ever complain about announcer bias ever again.
On a more related note, can they get this game started already?!

I'm looking forward to seeing how Alshon Jeffery plays and if the absence of Greg Jennings will be an issue.
