Spence is talented ball player. Illinois coaching staff was a mess. I see him with a ton of upside, something that Eric Stokes likes.

If he wanted upside, he should have looked about 2 feet away from Spence. The other DT for Illinois was Glenn Foster. 6'4 286, ran 4.81, jumped 39.5 inches. Decent player, not much worse than Spence but with WAAAAY more upside. 29 reps of 225.

Uhh, it's about the fact that Spence did little to impress on the field... neither did Foster. If you want to talk upside, you talk about measurables. You brought up Spence's upside, which nobody else seems to see... him and his lifetime 3.5 sacks playing on a loaded DL.

Is it not unreasonable to believe a guy with a 39.5 VJ at 290 lbs MIGHT be able to shoot a gap?
