The same player that the Eagles cut mid season. That guy was starting over DPOY Brandon Graham.

Brandon Graham won't even start this year, he'll be a situational pass rusher. Cole and Connor Barwin are starting.

Which makes this even more hilarious. Bc if Graham was so good, then why the F did the Eagles go out and get Connor Barwin? Why not just start Graham and have Curry as their 3rd situational rusher?

We're comparing a Pro Bowler to a situational wide 9 rusher who had limited success on 3rd down for half a season in 3 years, in a scheme that has no run responsibilities and we're using pressures to justify his worth.

All sorts of lulz with this whole conversation. It wouldn't be the first lulz worthy conversation with Thumper though. The list is long and distinguished.

Do you have any idea what the dynamic was like on that team last year? if you followed the beat writers or media at all you'd understand that Washburn was a controlling presence on the team, and he had his favorite players and Babin was basically his lackey, his right hand man.

When the team cut Babin, Washburn basically went apes*** on the rest of the coaching staff and then was RELEASED HIMSELF by the management before the last four games of the regular season.

And you know this, exactly, because you're part of the Eagles coaching staff? You have no clue. Most of the beat writers are even saying that the likelihood is that Cole will be benched for Graham.

IF you listen to Howie Roseman, which you clearly have not, so you have no clue what you're even spouting, they wanted to sign a rotational pass rusher with experience playing in the 3-4. Nothing more, nothing less. If Barwin starts, he will surely be starting opposite Graham, who is the best player on the team right now among the pass rushers.

Again, you clearly didn't watch many Eagles games last year. Graham was rotated in and out on various snaps, and not strictly on 3rd down. The way the Washburn system works is that one set of DL play a few downs, from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, and then after a series of snaps, the next rotation comes in. Babin and Cole were the first string DL, and Graham was part of the second string with Tapp. Graham played as many 1st and 2nd down snaps as 3rd down snaps, he just played basically half as many snaps as he would if he were not part of the Washburn rotation.

This would not nearly be as lulz without your complete, obvious, and shining ignorance about all things related to the NFL and the Eagles team in particular.

It's gonna be even more hilarious when the Eagles draft Dion Jordan. Which makes DPOY Brandon Graham 4th on the depth chart.

I generally agree that you don't want to use premium draft picks on pass rushers who don't have some college productivity under their belts, but JPP had 24.5 sacks in his two years of juco football. While we obviously can't treat those like they happened in the SEC, I also don't think we can just pretend that they didn't happen. It's not like he was on the USF squad and he just wasn't good enough to get on the field.

They're drafting Star Lotuleilei or one of the OTs that falls, or they're trading back.

Aren't the Eagles switching to a 3-4 defense this year? That'd pretty easily explain why they went out to grab Connor Barwin.

I didn't think Graham could play 3-4 OLB when he came out and I see no reason why to think he could now. Honestly, wouldn't surprise me to see them move him at some point. With that said, I do think Graham, when healthy, can be an impact DE for sure.

when you're stating things like fact, "imo" would certainly help. it's only three letters.

if its obviously an opinion based comment like "geno smith is better than matt barkley" yeah, that's cool, but it wasn't.

Apparently you missed it when he said that exact same thing to another posted earlier in the page... It was a remark on this troll's double standards and inability to consistently apply logic.

So if the Chiefs take Joeckel, the Raiders take Floyd, the Eagles take Ansah, and the Bills take Nassib, are we going to see a SWDC mass-suicide on Thursday night?

Seeing as how Graham was the #1 LB prospect in the nation coming out of high school, I think he has the raw skills necessary to play in space.

He's a great DE but I think he can also be a great 3-4 OLB. He's quick in space.

Going forward, with Tuck declining and Osi gone, I'd be shocked if the Giants D-Line is even league-average, because Pierre Paul as their best player means that they will be a mediocre pass-rushing line unless they replace Osi and Tuck somehow.

Pretty certain high school rankings mean nil when it comes to NFL capabilities. Actually, I am 100% certain of that. He never played LB or "in space" at the college level and hasn't at all at the NFL level, either. Not sure coaches are going to view his high school film to see if he can do so.

Like I said, I think he'll be a phenomenal DE if he can stay healthy.
