I would love it if they put Foles in. I love him longterm, actually wanted to develop him behind Romo, but IMO he's not leading this team to the playoffs so that's 1 less team in the division to worry about. I think Foles has some really good tools to work with, I wanted him pretty bad to sit and mold for 2 seasons.

This feels like the end of the Andy Reid era in Philly.

I'd be amazed if he picked up a new job right off the bat, should be let go of course. He could do wonders for team needing a real offense though.

He should take a year off. He needs a year off.
But if he gets fired he'll get another job in 2 seconds.

That's what I was saying on the last page. After what...14 years now with the same team? ....he may need a break. Throw in the fact that it was only a couple months ago that his son died and I'm sure his family needs him around more.
Take a year off and then have your choice of openings in 2014.

It was a dumb move to begin with.
Anyway, Im happy for Bowles. The guy deserves it and I believe he will do some great things for the Eagles defense.

thank god, maybe they will use something other than wide 9 on first down and then 2nd and short, and 3rd and short.
might even see a safety blitz or corner.

Is it crazy to think Andy Reid could be coaching the Cowboys next year?

Like I've said a few times, he'll certainly have his choice of teams offering him the HC job but I think he'll take a year off.

He should, I just don't know that he will. I thought he should have taken more time off when his son passed also. Usually if there is a great job available they don't take the time off, I can't remember off the top of my head, but when Fisher was fired I don't think he had the greatest opportunities available at the time.

Plus, I don't really see him taking a gig like Cowher or Gruden. Doesn't seem the type for that.

Unless Nick Foles lights the world on fire, that whole staff is going to be gone in 10 or so more weeks.

Good point. Also, there's a special spot in hell for those who keep saying, "oh, Andy Reid is awesome. Philly just doesn't appreciate what it has." No, forget that. Same friggin' problems every friggin' year. There's way too much talent on this team for this type of mediocrity.

I like Andy Reid the GM.
GM Andy Reid is a stud. It's coach Andy Reid that's the problem.

And that's why Philly will most likely take 3 steps backwards when he's gone. Because, and i've said this forever now, Andy Reid is the reason why the Eagles are consistenty good, but he's also the reason why they'll never win a SB as long as he's their HC.
When you lose him, you also lose his awesome drafts. So keep that in mind.

Jim Washburn is still there, so that's highly unlikely.

I had this discussion on Twitter a couple weeks ago.
Basically, what the hell do you do when your coach is arguably the best in the league at developing QBs and drafting, but is one of the worst at actually managing games?
People forget how absolutely god-awful that Eagles roster was in 2010 when Vick miraculously won them the division. They should have been picking top 10 that year. And Reid/Vick kept them competitive through an extremely quick rebuild.

For the drafting side of things, you can make him your GM. You lose the QB development side of things though....this is the guy who made the inaccurate, unclutch McNabb into a passable NFL QB by hiding his deficiencies well. He also made AJ Feely and Kevin Kolb look good enough in limited time to steal 2nd round draft picks from other teams. And he (briefly) turned Vick in a respectable pocket passer, salvaging his career.
But the game management is such a killer. You could make him HC and force some high level coordinators on him, but he'd still be the guy making the calls.
Regardless, when he's fired by the Eagles, he'll be at the top of the list of any team in need of a new head coach, game management concerns be damned.

Yeah, that's more what I was going for. Worded it poorly. Reid the GM has done some wonderful things. For example, as a drafter, he got LeSean McCoy, a top-3 running back, in the second round. As a coach, he refuses to him even when it's been shown that the Eagles win when McCoy gets the ball.

I want Andy to get fired and team up with Holmgren to start an expansion team with a mascot being a walrus with a mustache.
I also want to put that joke on social media when/if Andy goes, so none of you better steal it

Castillo is responsible for putting their defense in bad field position and staying on the field too long?
Vick should have been benched a long time ago. Castillo has to lose his job because Reid is a loyalist.

And loyalty wasn't a factor in the decision. If it was, someone other than a guy who has been with Andy almost his entire head coaching career would've been fired, not Juan.
