So are PED and Steriods a more common occurance in the NFL than we think... Or have we just never acknowledged that players are using these in the gym to help themselves get bigger?

I'm not sure he took them to get bigger. He most likely took them to get back onto the field quicker. That doesn't excuse him from what he's done though. I think PEDs and adderall and many other substances are, if not distributed, then at least being pushed by teams in order to gain a competitive edge. It's been like that for a long time, and I think that it'll be hard to change.
