Report:NFL set to cancel China Bowl
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...v=ap&type=lgns
NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL plans to cancel a scheduled exhibition game in China between Seattle and New England, Sports Illustrated reported on its Web site.
SI.com, citing unidentified sources, said Sunday the league will announce the decision to cancel the China Bowl early this week. The Seahawks and Patriots are scheduled to play Aug. 7 at Workers Stadium.

I'm keenly interested in hearing why, because there better be a damn good reason considering the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts played in Tokyo in 2005.

Probably because Belichick complained about it and God forbid they go against his orders?

This baffles me. He filters his injury reports like a Communist government; he should love China.

I don't think this was a bad idea. But I don't think China was the right place.

It was a stupid idea to begin with. It's something like a 14 hour plane ride and when you factor in things like Jet lag (12 hour time difference?), teams are going to be missing a lot of valuable practice time. That's time that many players need to prove themselves or to learn their system. Seems like way too much for a stupid preseason game.

Boston GLobe states the Pats will likely ask for the game to be in New England. THe two teams are scheduled to play in Seatle the weekend before, as well.
