John Elway vs Brett Favre..Armstrength
In terms of just pure arm strength and impressive throws that make your jaw drop. Brett Favre vs. John Elway, who do you guys thinks had the more powerful arm? I’ll give the edge to Favre, I was watching him from the mid 90’s and he had major league “stuff”. So my question is in terms of just arm strength, who you got?

I'm going with the former MajorLeagueBaseballer Elway.
That guy could throw cannons across the field from one side to the other corner like nobody else.

I caught a lob from John Elway once and he about ripped my hands off and he was like 45 so I can't imagine what it would have been like in his prime.

Elway and it aint even close.
In college at Stanford, he would "throw off" the ball to give punters a break in practice. The guy was drafted by MLB twice(Royals in 79 and Yankees in 81) as a pitcher.

JaMarcus Russell once threw a ball 100 yards from his knees, and Elway's arm is still stronger.

Where does JaMarcus Russell fit in with arm strength. I remember after he was drafted - "Oh.. He can throw the ball 50 plus yards on his knees"

I had not paid attention to that but Elway seemingly span underneath. That usually bolstered more rpm on velocity. Favre should have stronger arm.

Elway has a stronger arm, but Farve had the quicker release. Both had very great velocity on their throws.

LOL. Repped.
I remember that Elway early in his career got complaints from his WRs that he threw the ball too hard and that it physically hurt in cold weather to catch his passes.
Favre completed a ton of passes most QBs couldn't because of his release and arm strength, which is part of the reason he told a rookie Aaron Rodgers he couldn't really mentor him because his style of play was predicated so much on his God given gifts as a QB.

We'll save those conversations for Matt Stafford threads right?
John Elway is the answer for me to all questions regarding QBs.
