After he re injured it and got the needle, I doubt anyone seriously evaluated him before he went back in.

Its not a question of if he should have started, because that is iffy. However, when he re injured it and then kept getting worse as the game went on, it was so obvious he shouldn't have been out there. When James Andrews keeps saying he doesn't like i before the game, and then it gets much worse, cmon...

Ok it's getting a little comical at this point. He's a quarterback, not your lover.

One of the best doctors in the world in sports medicine DID NOT clear him. Redskins obviously don't care about what his actual injuries are.

When Andrews quits the team tomorrow you'll understand how bad Shanny ****** this up. It's like Any Given Sunday.

If only Cousins had come into the game much earlier. Might have been a different story.

God I hate it when people feel the need to have a different opinion just for the sake of being different. This is a completely black and white situation, he shouldn't have been out there, and if you don't agree you're an idiot.

Well after it was apparent that Robert Griffin III wasn't getting anything done and was clearly hurt, it was time to make a chance. I can't see people grilling him (like they will be now) for sitting Griffin who was clearly slowed by his injury and ineffective.

I highly doubt it. The guy was limping since last week, and it was known his doctors didn't want him playing. Plus the field conditions are terrible, this is a complete different situation than the one people got on Cutler for (not saying youre insinuating that but some were).

Id rather get destroyed for protecting the most important player on my team then for getting him injured. The criticism isn't real whereas the injury is something that could affect the organization for years to come.

He had an MCL sprain in the middle of the game, and tried to come back and play a series in the 3rd quarter. But he couldn't, knew it wasn't working and the coach or he decided to take him out, before making it worse.
Say he stays in, limps around, can't throw and injuries himself worse. Everyone calls for Lovie's head since he was a coach that couldn't see his Qb couldn't play.

None of you have any idea what it's like to be in this situation. There's no way Andrews could evaluate him realistically in these circumstances to make a call. You don't trade 3 first to pull a guy when he says he can go in the playoffs.

Agreed but they are still in this game which is why I could see people being salty for pulling him.

He'd be thinking long term for RGIII and giving his team a better chance to win this game. Even if RGIII survived and they moved on, the knee would've gone next week.
Considering how the defense played, going down with RGIII's ship was stupid.

Do I wish he was pulled? Sure. It was hard to watch but I'm not going to sit here and say I wouldn't do the same under these circumstances if I were shanny or rg3.

As a football coach at the high school level i cant even understand shannys take on this situation. I was alright with rgIII starting the game, but as it was going on you could see it progressing to worse and worse yet you let him continue to go out and play. This is on terms for firing and I truly believe that. This is about a players life and career. How do you explain to his parents that you let him go back out knowing it wasnt stable and later on he tore the dam thing. Irresponsible and terms for firing. Coaches job to make that decision. Where is the qb coach, off. coordinator, standing up for the young man and making the right decision. Unbelievable. And im not all for this league safety stuff that they have going on, but this situation is unreal.

You don't trade 3 firsts for a guy and then leave him on the field when he's injured and playing like ****.
Why are you defending obvious stupidity?

He wasn't even playing well. They had nothing to gain from keeping him in.

It's the guy's first year in the league and you wanna run him into the ground like if it's the last game before the world ends. That's ******* moronic.

the sad part is this isn't HS or college, this is a business, where the bottom line is $$$.
Long term and ideal world, the coach would pull the injured franchise player. But long term really isn't the goal now is it, Not For Long is the motto.
