Not being cocky. We have a long ways still but I'm confident in what I'm seeing that we will turn it around and the Sox will have to hold us off till the very end. But come on, you guys play in the NL. The little sisters league basically. If you wanna be considered the only AL caliber team playing in the NL you gotta show me more than this.

Not necessarly applicable, but do you feel the same way about the Giants playing in the NFC?

In ways yes. But the difference between the AL and NL is greater than the difference between the AFC and NFC.

Football is a whole different beast than baseball anyway. Almost impossible to compare the two. During the Super Bowl the Detroit Lions could beat the Colts. However in a seven games series, although possible, the Royals are less likely to beat the Yankees/Sox/Mets etc. And over the course of 162 games, that same Royals team has even less of a chance to have a better record than any of those teams.

Baseball is a long season. Our pitching has been spectacular so far and our offense is now lagging a little bit. You saw the exact same thing except usually we still eek out victories when this happens. We're in a 4 game losing streak right now with a very touch stretch coming up. I am very confident by the time mid summer rolls around we'll still be on top. Also enough with comparing the leagues already because its pretty ridiculous. I don't have enough time to get into it right now but teams are made up specifically because of the league they play in. I don't know of any AL teams with the likes of the Padres or Mets or Dodgers bullepns and etc. Same thing goes with the Cards last year that even though the Tigers had a great back of the bullpen some of their middle relief bit them. Teams are made up differently based on the legaue they play in. Just because of the Dh doesn't mean the league is better it's because you have an extra hitter on each team. Bring the Yankees into the NL without that extra hitter and the lineup is totally different.

Different yet still better. Besides the DH, the AL linesup are deeper 1-8.

Huh, that's funny, considering that based on record, win percentage, and other statistics, the NL has better teams to face than the AL. I hope you're not basing that ridiculous statement of the recent All-Star game results...?

And you do realize you are playing in the AL East as well. Where exactly 1 team is above .500.

FINALLY!!!!

Sosa has been AWESOME for us. BTW, Omar recently admitted that he didn't really like Sosa, but his people convinced him to sign him.

Sounds like Omar has surrounded himself with good people.

How about D-Wright and Reyes flashing the leather in the last couple of games?

Good way to start the road series. Was this the time of the year last year when we went on the 9-1 road trip?

Reyes has been flashing the leather all year. Wright does his best when ever he doesn't have to think about what he is doing. Wright has the best reactions on the ball.

Omar has been great by listening to everyone around him. He includes all his guys and does not have an ego that makes him mess things up. This is one of the reasons why he is a great GM for us.

Yeah, Reyes is #1 in MLB in Range Factor. He deserves the GG, but I have a feeling Visquel will win it.

Only for the higher payroll teams. The NL has the same problem that 1-8 the higher payroll teams are deeper.

I'm glad Newhan is gone, he stinks.

Ledee won't be here for long either.

I'm hoping, when Green comes back, they'll call up either Chip Ambres or Corey Coles.

Mike Pelfrey with a nice outing tonight in AAA.

Our AAA 2b, Jake Gautreau had a decent day today:

6-7, 4 doubles, HR, 5 runs, 8 RBI. Maybe we should call him up.

In total, our AAA team left 17 runners on base tonight.....but they scored 19.

We could use some of that offense at the major league level right now even though we did score a nice amount of runs the last two games.

I'm not really that worried at all. The same thing happened during that stretch when we went to Boston last year and so on. We can't play great ball all year round.

ATL originally told me this, and I disagreed with him, but then I actually saw the game last night and realized he was right, Glavine is unfortunately our worst pitcher. We gotta wake up, Reyes hasn't been as electrifying as usual, that's our problem...Wright's been smacking the ball though which is good, and Gomez is playing decently.

Glavine just isn't used to the American League. I wouldn't go crazy over that one game, he'll be back to pitching in the NL soon enough. Him out of all the pitchers on your team probably would be the worst adapting to the AL. Someone who has played so many years in the NL only and who doesn't have great stuff anymore. He's going to to the Hall of Fame on getting that extra 1-3 inches on the outside of the plate and navigating his way through NL lineups.
