Hells nah, but the official numbers haven't come out yet. According to initial reports, his restructure saved us $12m of cap room. Add Cassel being cut soon and we'll be sitting pretty in time for FA.

Conflicting reports of 4 mil and 8.4 mil signing bonus for Eric Winston. Turns out Spotrac caused all the confusion by accidentally lumping his workout bonuses in with the signing bonuses like some fools.
Cut saves the Chiefs 3.5M instead of the 700k initially reported.
Still a ******* terrible move from a team-building standpoint.

If they wanted to save money they should've let Albert go. Unless it's a health issue.

Akers has been released by the 49ers. How much does SF save from releasing him?

Per Ninercaphell.com
The 49ers have officially announced the release of PK David Akers. After missing 13 field goals, just one season after a record number of field goals made in 2011.
The move saves the team $3.05 million in cap room. With the Alex Smith trade, the 49ers could be as much as $14 million under the salary cap.
Cap space as of today: 2013 Cap Space $4,237,425

Poor guy. Going to be toughin' out this year on only 4M.
Seriously, though, it's a smart move by a guy who knows the 7.25M may as well be vapor. It's not so much taking a paycut as it is retaining a job. 4M is clearly better than the 0M he gets from them if cut.

I wish I could lose nearly half of my salary for the year and still make more than 99% of the worlds' population.

Tyvon Branch converts all but $715,000 of his $6m salary next season into a signing bonus. Oakland added another two years to his contract which now runs through the 2017 season. My calculations says that creates a saving of $4,228,000 on the Raiders cap from $10.9m to $6.672m

Dolphins re-signed WR Brian Hartline to a five-year, $30.775 million contract with $12.5 million guaranteed. The annual average is $6.15 million.
https://twitter.com/JeffDarlington/s...20448945586176
Also re-signed Matt Moore, details to come...
Can't wait to see what we have left for Mikey & Co.
Monomach, time to start crunching some numbers again! :)

Can't do anything with an annual average or a total amount. Need the specific 2013 cap number.

Nevermind, got it from this website. I hate you all.

The first year is supposedly between 3-4mil, which leaves us with about 33mil left. Got it!

Crazy, it seems like he was with you guys forever. Moves like this show you it's really just a business.
He probably won't be out of work long though.

Career Cardinal, no where near what he once was but can still defend the run and rush the QB, just can't cover anymore

Was he really at a risk of not being able to get a signing bonus better than $4M on the open market though?
