Default Who Are Your Sleepers?

I get tired of hearing about the same guys over and over again, so I want to know about some sleepers you guys think can make an NFL roster. And I don't consider guys like Markus Wheaton or Marcus Lattimore to be sleepers.

Some of mine are....

1. Jasper Collins WR, Mount Union
2. Alec Lemon WR, Syracuse
3. Ronnie Wingo Jr. RB, Arkansas
4. Dennis Johnson RB, Arkansas
5. Micah Hyde DB, Iowa
6. Jake Stoneburner TE, Ohio State
7. Craig Roh DE, Michigan
8. Trevardo Williams OLB, Connecticut
9. Derrick Washington RB, Tuskegee

Washington is interesting in my opinion, while he doesn't have the break away speed (if I had to guess I'd say 4.58-4.68) he does have good hands and great vision, a patient runner. Played for Missouri from 2007-2009 and then got kicked off the team and served a 4-months in prison (sentenced for 5 years) He was probably a 4th rounder had he finished out his career at Mizzou.

What are some of your guys'sleepers this year?

Michael Ford, RB, LSU - former top recruit, had academic troubles at LSU, shared the backfield with about 36 people. Very raw, but if there's any position where raw can still produce it's at RB (See Bryce Brown).

Kerwynn Williams, RB, Utah St. Put 2 RBs in the NFL last draft. Can really run and has enough size at 5'8", 195-200 ish.

Aaron Hester, CB, UCLA. With the years that Charles Tillman and the Seattle CBs just had, big CBs are going to be highly sought after. Good in man coverage.

Emory Blake, WR, Auburn. Made some big plays for the national championship team. Then he went from a Heisman winner at QB to one of the worst passing offenses in the country. I think he can be developed and contribute somewhere.

Sean Renfree QB, Duke. Has the size (6'4", 230ish). Good enough arm. Underrated mobility. Went to Duke, so he's pretty smart. 3-year starter. Played under the same coach who mentored Eli and Peyton Manning. Undraftable because of a torn pec in the bowl game, but will get a chance on a practice squad before possibly making a roster the next year.

Earl Watford, OG, James Madison. Athletic guard 6'4, 300. Probably best suited for a ZBS, but plays a little nasty. Poor man's Jonathan Cooper.

Jared Smith, DT, New Hampshire. Invited to combine, pretty dominant CAA player. 6'4", 300lbs, quick, strong.

Jasper Collins and Cooper Taylor are a couple other guys on my list, that have already been mentioned.

I like the Sean Renfree pick, that's a good one. And I've been hearing a lot about Cooper Taylor lately. How good is he?

Eh, I think too many draftniks like Taylor because he's a 6'4" 229 pound safety. Not because he's a real good prospect. At the same time, I guess if he can develop some and use that size he'd be pretty good. But I think if he was normal sized he wouldn't be talked about nearly as much

RB
Latavius Murray, UCF (nice jump cuts, quick feet, great hands, huge target)
Cierre Wood, Notre Dame (going to time well at the Combine)
George Winn, Cincinnati (will be a better pro than Isaiah Pead)
Miguel Maysonet, Stony Brook
Curtis McNeal, USC (faster version of JacQuizz Rodgers)
Deonte Williams, Cal Poly (this year's Daryl Richardson, reminds me of Ryan Williams)
Orwin Smith, Georgia Tech (cheaper version of Johnathan Franklin, who I like very much as well, very good receiver)
Matthew Tucker, TCU (good feet and balance, ZBS fit, reminds me of Arian Foster)
Benny Cunningham, Middle Tennessee State (Ahmad Bradshaw clone, too bad he tore his patellar tendon, still recovering)

WR
Anthony Amos, Middle Tennessee State (cheaper version of Markus Wheaton, speed + great ball skills:

Corey Fuller, Virginia Tech (deep threat)
Chad Bumphis, Mississippi State (going to be a very good slot WR)
Chuck Jacobs, Utah State (slot WR with speed, reminds me of Nate Washington)
Darrin Moore, Texas Tech (huge target, redzone/endzone monster)
Eric Highsmith, North Carolina (Steve Breaston clone)

RB/WR/KR/PR
Lindsey Lamar, South Florida (2013 version of De'Anthony Thomas for those who can't wait:

Matt Brown, Temple (5'5"??? Trindon Holliday as a RB, watch the stiff arm and tackle-breaking:

Reggie Dunn, Utah (legit 4.3 speed, prolific kick returner: 4 TDs on only 10 returns)

Zac Stacy - RB - Vanderbilt - the next late round/free agent guy to make it big in a zone blocking scheme??

Keith Pough - OLB - Howard - suspension and injury in his senior year seem to have derailed his stock, but he can play.

Jakar Hamilton - FS - South Carolina State - lost out in the shuffle (Rambo/Williams) for Georgia, but has a nice skill set.

Miguel Maysonet - RB - Stony Brook - smaller than ideal so not a 20+ touch guy, but perfect to bring in as a change of pace guy with the threat to make the big play.

Caylin Hauptmann - OT - FIU - technique needs work, but has the raw tools.

Mike Mauti - LB - Penn State - guess the question with the knee injury means he's regarded as a late rounder, but he's got some really good 2012 tape.

Jahleel Addae - SS - Central Michigan - a little shorter than ideal, but tough and has experience in man coverage.

I'll second a couple of players already mentioned - Zac Stacy and Joseph Fauria. Fauria isn't the best blocker, but he's going to be a nice receiving threat for someone. I've also posted about Phillip Steward, OLB from Houston. I've actually only seen one game of him, but it was really good. I think John Simon might find some work in the NFL. Rex Burkhead could become fantasy-relevant.

It isn't that Fauria 'isn't the best blocker', it's that he's the worst blocker. In college football. Ever.

Cooper Taylor played safety early on at Ga. Tech then had some sort of injury and eventually transferred to Richmond. At one time he was clocked at 4.4 for the 40 at about 215 lbs. He showed real well at the East West game week and i'm a little surprised he didn't get a combine invite. At his size a conversion to olb is a also a possibility.

I would love the Bears to take a late round flier on Cooper Taylor and try him out at linebacker. He is already just as big as Nick Roach so conceivably, he might not have to add weight. Even just 10-15 pounds more would make him the same weight as Briggs.

Gerald Hodges ILB PSU. I guess he isn't a major sleeper, but I rarely hear his name when people talk about LB's. This guy will be a beast in the NFL.

I actually like Renfree as well strangely enough. I think he could develop in to a decent back up, which is fine for a guy who you won't spend a pick on. Duke has come a long way recently and I'd think Renfree has been a part of that.

Mike Taylor from Wisconsin should test pretty well and may be a surprise for someone who plays a 4-3 defense. Taylor has to put on weight, but that should be easy enough in the off-season.

Two of my favorites are now losing there sleeper value as many have caught on to Travis Kelce and Sio Moore.

One guy I have left who is a deep sleeper is Tremayne Scott. He didn't even get invited to the combine and spend most of the season injured. When he is healthy, however, he can get after the passer.

I also like Joe Kruger. I don't know if he is a sleeper though. Have no idea where the masses view him.

Another guy I like is Robbie Rouse because I myself am a midget (5'3 1/8)who played college football.

And I always have to pull for my Ashland Eagles so Taylor Housewright QB from D3 Ashland.

Taylor is a hard worker, tough hitter and is a really good athlete. He should be able to catch on as a special teamer somewhere.
