Al Davis tried to build the defense around CBs for decades. We had one of the best in Asomugha. All we got for it was a god awful defense year after year.
When we last went to the Super Bowl, we had Clarence Love and Terrence Shaw starting far more games at corner than anyone could have anticipated. They were absolutely adequate when given just a little safety help (Rod Woodson) and a halfway decent pass rush.
CB is important, but they are positively useless without a pass rush, safety help, and a run defense. We have none of the above. Thus, Milliner will be no better than Philip Adams for this team.
We're rebuilding. We have to go BPA with an emphasis on the front 7 and OL. Otherwise, we're standing still at best, and backing up at worst.

No offense, but your Raiders draft sucks.

I'm going to agree with Abaddon on this one. While I would love to fill our huge holes with a stud like Milliner, it would be difficult to be excited about this pick with nothing in the front 7.
Raiders need to build from the inside out and that means passing on a great talent like Milliner. And it looks like RM has the same philosophy.

How many DEs do we have?
DTs?
LBs?
Offensive linemen?
You can zoom in on CB and see a problem, certainly. But pan back and look at the rest of the roster. It's just as bad all over.

Solid Miami draft, although I dont think they will pick Patterson in the 1st. I would think that they would go CB/DE with there 1st, then WR/TE in the 2nd.

Great 1st rounder for the Lions. Too many needs to take another DE in the second. DB, RG, WR, RB are more pressing needs.

At this point the Skins have no reason to draft Williams in the second round. Awful pick. I'd grade it out as D-

Richardson is sex for the Giants.

also, Khaseem? Logan? for shame

Eifert and Okafor. I would be beyond happy, but only if Tony is gone.

Drafting a guy at 32, that is similar to one of the best safeties in the NFL would be be a bad thing?

1) Lions won't go back to back DE's
2) Xavier Rhodes comparison to Patrick Peterson bugs me. Peterson is a physical specimen that tests out above average in every category. Rhodes is a big CB that runs fast (nothing compared to PP) and hasn't proved to be half the playmaker PP is

would definitely prefer Vaccaro, Allen, Cooper, or Eifert over Teo there right now, i like teo but i think the other players would be more valuable
Elam in 2 is a sexy sexy pick though

I would prefer Allen or even Cooper for the Vikes in round 1. I like Williams in round 2, even if they grabbed Allen in 1

Warmack is a great pick.
Jenkins isn't.
We'll be playing the "Dallas-2" and I don't envision Jenkins as being able to stunt with his massive 350 lb frame. His pass rushing is abysmal and Ratliff and Lissemore are already suited to manning the 1-tech in Kiffin's scheme. If we don't re-sign Spencer we'll either need a 3-tech (if we kick Hatcher to SDE) or a SDE.
Based on your board I'd take Sylvester Williams, Arthur Brown, or Alex Okafor.

Fluker/Warford aren't bad selections themselves, but IMO they become bad selections when you consider the Rams could have gone Warmack/Elam in this scenario.

8. Buffalo Bills - Jarvis Jones, Linebacker, Georgia
NFL Comparison: Bruce Irvin, Seattle Seahawks
14. Carolina Panthers - Star Lotulelei, Defensive Tackle, Utah
NFL Comparison: Haloti Ngata, Baltimore Ravens
17. Pittsburgh Steelers - Manti Te'o, Linebacker, Notre Dame
NFL Comparison: Rey Maualuga, Cincinnati Bengals
LOL. Cuz they all look alike...

Those first two are legit comparisons made by everyone. Te'o is just a big, overrated LB like Maualuga turned out to be. Not great in coverage, more of just a slow run stuffer.
