Blount will more than likely be apart of the trade so I don't think they'd have to make that trade.

The problem for the Bucs is that the NFC is so stacked. If Carolina gets their heads out of their assess that division could be insane.

The NFC has slowly become the Western Conference.

I think the Bucs, have really built a nice team around the QB. I don't like the move to overpay for Goldson, but I do think he's a good player. Him and Barron will be a great duo together with their style of play, will make WRs think twice going over the middle.

Revis is the best CB in football. Maybe the best Defensive player. He eliminates teams #1 WRs. What he did against Calvin Johnson in 2011, only proves that when watching that game. He eliminated him what what, a catch for 4 yards?

His contract is what concerns me. From what I've seen, we only gave up a 1 this year and a 3 next year along with a 5th or 6th rounder as well.

Have had my concerns about Mark Dominik in decision making earler in 2009 and 2010 and even to sit out 2011 FA. But he's done an adequate job since Schiano has came on board. And he';s a pretty good "Capologist."

I think the bucs need to add some dline depth and another CB. My biggest concern is Josh Freeman. He needs to be consistent.

Schefter just reported that Revis passed the physical and the deal is done.

Bucs get Revis. Jets get 2013 1st round pick and a conditional 2014 4th round pick.

It's great for them because they can front load this year when they have all the cap space. They can also trade him without a dead money hit whenever they want.

It's good for Revis because he can still become the mercenary DB like Deion Sanders was, jumping from one contender to the next. If the Bucs don't make a leap forward this year, he can just demand a trade next offseason and there's nothing holding him back.

No guaranteed money makes this deal better for the Bucs I suppose. But he is still going to cost a ton of money. But how could his agent negotiate a zero-guaratee contract?

This move is only good from the Jets side if we trade down with the 13th(or 9th) pick to get more picks to essentially build off what we get for Revis.

If we don't....then I'm kinda left feeling jipped in a way. But I have faith in Idzik and feel he chatted with teams to gauge interest acting that he had the 13th pick in his pocket.

I really like this trade for the Bucs. They gave less than I expected and got a unique contract to work with. They are basically pay as you go with that deal. If he falls apart they can just dump him at the end of a year or even trade him later on.. Revis gets top dollar as long as he performs at top level and that should make him happy.

Not really. His agent knows he'll get paid. Bucs just wouldn't give up a first rd pic only to cut him next year.

Meh. People are overreacting to there not being any guaranteed money. Barring a career-ending injury, he's going to see an absolute minimum of two years. That's $32 million right there.

He probably won't even need to be all that great against the Saints because the Bucs will put up 30+ points on that wretched Saints defense with ease.

As long as Revis & the rest of the defense can hold the Saints to 28 or so points, it's an easy win for the Bucs.

This is basically 5 1 year deals. You're right. He's probably going to get at least 2 years. Unless he gets into a car wreck. Or a weight drops on his neck. Or someone takes a shot at his knees. Or he comes out and plays like an average corner, which could happen given how most people rarely return to form (save Adrian Peterson) the year after an ACL tear.

A guy like Revis could have had 50 million guaranteed to him.

This is a huge gamble, one that could blow up in his face or could work out great. I still think 6 years, 72 million with 40-50 guaranteed makes way more sense. Basically, after 3 years of his current contract, his deal would be better - but if he fails to play 3 years before Tampa cuts him loose then mine would be.

Could he have had $50 million guaranteed? Maybe Tampa wasn't going to give him that much guaranteed. He didn't have a lot of leverage at this point, considering that Tampa was the only team serious about trading for him. 6/72/50 sounds good, but we don't know if it was on the table or not.
