Talented, yes, but his character is a huge question mark.

Honestly, it looked like that whole Auburn defense gave up before the season even started.

Hard for a 20-21 year old to not give up when the coaches making six+ figures had completely lost the ship and pretty much given up themselves. Auburn was a mess, from administrative problems to the coaching, which all fell down to the field. Thats how you go from a National Championship in 2010 to everyone fired 2 seasons later.

This statement is absolutely not based off of any factual proof. In fact, on Feb. 5th Matt Miller of Bleacher report/NewEraScouting tweeted this out:

I just quoted Mayock I believe, he didn't like Lemonier's performances the 2nd half of the season on tape. He said he saw no effort from him and that is why he is getting little love from scouts and GM's. He'll still get drafted by round 4 but he cost himself a lot of money.

I would understand if there were questions about him personally but this is a collective thing with the Auburn team. Can't discredit a kid for following suit. We saw what he's capable of when focused, and I can only imagine that's the player you will get in the NFL. A hungry, chip on his shoulder player. Do you have to worry about him quitting on a 3, 4 win team. I would assume he's smart enough to know something like tht will ruin a career. Going half speed for half a senior season on a team stuck in a downward spiral doesn't have a consequence as severe.

However, there is still a risk when you draft him that when the going gets tough, he may just give up.
He'll get drafted, no doubt about that, but no GM is going to risk a very high pick on him so there were consequences to his actions.

The Jags could move Alualu to the outside 5 technique (similar to college) or possibly put Austen Lane in that role.

Similar situation to Quinton Coples last year. Coples did play reasonably well to close the season as a rookie.

Alualu is probably the best fit amongst the roster right now, I'd say.

But someone is going to get a good player. I don't want to compare him as a player to LaMarr Woodley, but I think he's going to be that type of find. Someone's going to get him late 2nd-early 3rd at worst and he's going to end up being a productive rookie for them. Kinda reminds me of an Ahmad Brooks type of player. Maybe won't put up the spectacular sack numbers, but will be a solid player.

In year one, he could be a pass-rush specialist as he figures out how to cover in space and take on the "other responsibilities" in some ways, maybe used how the 49ers used Aldon Smith - non starter, but with plenty of reps mainly just getting after the QB.
I think RD2 is a really solid value for him.

This and This.
I see Lemonier as a strongside guy who can set the edge well as a 3-4 Linebacker. I think that Ezekiel Ansah is slightly more powerful and agile overall as a strongside guy but Lemonier is definitely my #2. I've compared him to Ahmad Brooks myself for months and it's nice to see other posters making the same comparisons.
My favorite 3-4 OLBs this year are
weak
Devin Taylor
Sio Moore
Strong
Ezekiel Ansah
Corey Lemonier

I really like Sio Moore and Corey Lemonier. But Devin Taylor at 6'7" is kinda lanky for LB. and Ansah is so raw, any team that takes him and demands he learn 3-4 OLB could be in for a long and unsteady transition. The best case for Ansah is to be a JPP type. Hand in the dirt and don't think about it. DE to OLB is tough for players who were born in the USA and played football their whole life, can only imagine how tough it's gonna be for Ansah. Hopefully he goes to a 4-3 team, it's his easiest path. 3-4 OLB transition could take years for this player.

Aldon Smith is rather lanky too.
Devin Taylor has 36" arms and an 87" wingspan
compared to Smith
Aldon Smith 35 3/8" arms and an 83 7/8" wingspan.
If you want to compare their athleticism watch these plays:
Aldon Smith making almost identical plays as Taylor made in the shrine game.
1:56 open-field tackle
:34 bull rush
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSGgh...layer_embedded
Now Taylor making nearly the exact same plays
5:50 Great play Closing speed, out runs smaller qb at 275lbs and doesn't give up the angle
6:17 bull rushes, manhandles tackle for a sack
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=g0-WeCHApmQ
Taylor might be a bit taller but he is every bit as athletic, perhaps even more so.
Ansah is Raw but he's very powerful. I don't see him as a speed edge rusher, I see him as a guy who will come in and shut down the perimeter run game as a DE or a Linebacker. He can even collapse a pocket on a bull rush and had 63 tackles and 9 passes defensed last year for BYU.

I also think that
Michael Buchannan (Illinois/weakside)
Tristian Okpalaugo (Fresno State/strongside)
Margus Hunt (SMU/strongside)
Might find themselves as 3-4 olb types in the draft. The Ravens met with Hunt at the combine and might be looking at him as a replacement to Paul Kruger.

Smith is 6'4", Taylor is 6'7" if all you are doing is pass rushing these guys, I agree it doesn't matter. But if the OLB is asked to backpedal (coverage) a player like Smith could probably do it easier than a player like taylor.

Taylor blazed a 6.89 3-cone at the combine which was faster than Aldon Smith's 7.19, but it isn't only about stopwatch #'s.
Taylor was pretty good at dropping into coverage at South Carolina in 2010-2011 when he was asked to do it more.
He had similar pick-6's to aldon smith too.

He's comfortable dropping into space too.

The Ravens need an edge rusher to replace Kruger. For the strong-side/SAM responsibilities they have Upshaw who was really good in that role for them. He's just not a pass-rusher. I think Hunt could come in and be that guy to situationally rush the passer (I like him more as a 3-4 RUSH LB than a 5-technique) but they aren't really looking for a strong-side type of guy.
Lemonier would be a really nice fit for that though. I like him a lot as a RUSH LB.

What about Paul's brother Joe Kruger at Rush linebacker?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNUc_waKMrU
Their combine workouts were almost identical: Same 40, Same vertical, same bench.
Led Utah with 6 sacks last year and had an INT return for a TD.

Am I way off base here when I look at his workout numbers, size, and production (school as well) and the name Quinton Groves screams out at me?

Even if Hunt weren't a fantastic athlete masquerading as an overaged below average football player, asking a 6'8 guy to play any of the LB positions is asking a lot.

Meh.
Worked for Ted Hendricks.
He also had 8 sacks last year.
