Someone tell me about how he's doing... I never watch Bills games, but I keep seeing stuff from PFF and Greg Bedard at MMQB, and see Hughes among the league-leaders in edge pass rushers.
Is he playing a conventional standup OLB position in a 3-4 defense?
When and how did you guys get him?
Talk to me.
Sorry, didnt see this until today...
Had a great year, playing the role most of us knew he was meant for, a 34/hybrid stand up pass rusher. He only played 50-60% of the snaps, and is not a 3 down defender IMO, and I believe as evidenced by him playing almost exclusively on passing downs. IMO he is a stand up/pass rush specialist only, had 10 or sacks doing so this year and thrived.
He certainly contributed in his role, as he, K. Williams, M. Williams and M. Dareus all had great years and were one of the top D-lines in the league that because of the offensive woe's is not being nationally recognized by the majority.
We traded Kelvin Sheppard for him straight up after the draft last year.
