Matt Barkely. He's Jason Smith part 2.

Tavon Austin

He's a pint-sized speedster and playmaker at the college level, but I just don't see a role that he would fit on an NFL team. Certainly not a role worthy of a first round pick. The next Ted Ginn Jr.?

He and Ted Ginn are/were nothing alike. Ginn had nothing but ridiculous, long-stride, straight line speed.

Austin has so much more agility and lateral movement/shiftyness in his game it's not even close.

Bad comparison.

First thing I thought of when I read that. IMO Austin is much more natural as a receiver as well. Really nice fit in today's league, especially with how important it is to create mismatches and how protected receivers are.

Size/potential issues are really the only concern with him IMO, and it's valid but guys his size have had success in the league. Again, how protected offensive players are now clearly helps him in this area. He also does a good job avoiding taking big hits, had a pretty big workload in college and never missed a practice let alone a game. Still a question, but it's not like he's an injury prone guy coming into the league. He's done a great job staying healthy in college.

Mingo gets my vote. I understand he is a rare athlete buti don't think he will translate. Nfl offensive lineman will throw him around and running backs will shake his mediocore tackling. I personally like Ziggy Ansah's chances in the NFL more then Mingo's.

Not a Jarvis Jones or Patterson believer myself. I was pretty down on Damontre Moore back when he was being looked at as a top 10 guy, but that doesn't seem to be the case any longer.

Kenny Vaccaro - Stone hands, not a sure tackler, reminds me too much of Malcom Jenkins.

Barkevious Mingo - struggles to maintain weight, doesn't use his hands well, once an OT locks on he's finished, takes bad angles to the QB, not a force against the run at all.

I absolutely HATE Dion Jordan and see him ending up being a mega-bust if he's being drafted as a pass-rusher or in the top-half of the 1st. I know that a bunch of Jag fans have talked themselves into liking him and thinking he's going to be the pick, but I just don't see it from any of the actual games of his that I watched or the cut-ups of the other games.

Lane Johnson gives me such a Jason Smith vibe that if the Jags somehow ended up drafting him, I may go on an Archer-style rampage right on the spot.

Mingo, I can understand his being on this list, no way in hell that Vaccaro does though.

Geno Smith - won't be worth where is probably going to end up being drafted - sounding more and more like Jacksonville.

Agreed. Mingo has shades of Aaron maybin with less productivity. And Vaccaro is one of my favorite prospects in this draft.

You can't see dion Jordan bust? He's the epitome of a player with high bust potential, he's only rated high because of his measurables and not because of his game. If he doesn't develop, he's a bust, it's pretty simple

People were saying that about Malcom Jenkins when he came out. I just don't see Vaccaro being a special player at the next level.

Jordan is an edge rusher who wins with quickness, he is a very fluid athlete who can dip his shoulder around pass blockers and maintaining top speed as he turns the corner. Defending the run is his weakness, but if he plays OLB in a 3-4 that will not be that great of a problem, because he can use his quickness to beat the blocker.
His injury hasn't allowed him to weight lift this past season which limited his weight gain and strength, but as it heals, he will be quite capable of adding 20lbs. and the strength gain should also allow him to handle the bull rush far better.
IMO, he has zero bust potential.

I don't trust Mayock on every position, but he has been spot on about Safety prospects especially the ones at the top. He says he loves Vaccaro and that is good enough for me. He played the position in the pros so he actually knows what to look for in a Safety prospect. In his opinion, shared by a few others on NFL.com's 'Path to the Draft', Vaccaro belongs in the top 15 picks, of course, top 15 isn't a guarantee you will be special but it certainly puts the odds heavily in your favour.
