Loggains has CJ run between the Tackles a ton for the type of RB CJ is. I know we have to do that to influence where the LB's line up, but damn.

CJ has not been playing well, but I still put some blame on the O-Line (PFF rated us @ 25 (i think) through the first 5 games) and poor play calling. Just as TH said, we run straight up the gut too much. CJ has speed, I'd like to see someoff tackle plays.

Overall, I am disappointed we lost the game. But we stood there and battled head to head, toe to toe with a top 5 team in the NFL. The week before, we stood there and battled with another top 5 team in the NFL until momentum shifted on a questionable (at best) call. Oh yeah, we did all that with a backup QB.

There's no need to panic right now. We've shown we can compete with the best in the NFL. I saw more outside runs in Week 1 than I have the rest of the season combined. When Shonn Greene gets back, I expect the run game to pick up. Schwenke should be starting, and hopefully after the bye week we'll see a game with Schwenke, Locker and Greene.

CJ gets more blame deflection than any other self appointed "playmaker" in the league. So we paid $53 mill to a guy that needs perfect blocking and can't create anything on his own by either breaking tackles or making guys miss. Sure he'll have a decent run every once in a while because he's still fast, but his style of play is terrible for offensive efficiency.

The Titans are insisting on running Chris Johnson up the middle when he's far better in space.

Absolutely true. But saying "get him in space" is a lot easier than getting him in space. They need to be more creative and assertive in trying. And don't be so sure the calls are telling Johnson to go inside. My radio colleague Jonathan Hutton says he's told CJ is taking stretch plays and other stuff designed to create opportunity outside, either being impatient or not finding time, and taking them inside.

We need to look at how Kansas City uses Jamaal Charles and implement some of those running plays.

I've seen him cut some plays inside, but that's because there's nothing to the outside.

I don't claim to see every time CJ makes a mistake or everytime the line does, but either way it needs to be corrected.

I still put more blame upon the line than anything, I see players not holding blocks and players just flat out getting out-handled.

Roos is an all-star, LeVitre hasn't played all that well, Turner is trash, Warmack has been average at best and Stewart is not run blocking well.

PFF graded us out as a bottom 10 offensive line for a reason.

Waived Michael Preston and signed Zac Diles due to the Fokou injury. Colin McCarthy will start at MLB this week. Locker practiced lightly today and Shonn Greene was out on the field as well. All from Wyatt's twitter

But seriously, I'm surprised this move wasn't made sooner, because I'm honestly not sure if its possible to be worse than he has been.

And then hopefully Shonn Greene and Jake Locker join him in the starting lineup after the bye week.

Holy shat.

John Glennon ‏@glennonsports1m
Locker has been cleared for contact, just a matter of how well he comes along.

Rudy Kalis ‏@RudyKalisWSMV15m
Mike Munchak said he will consider starting Jake on Sunday because he's gotten better each day. But no decision yet.

To be fair he also said Fitzpatrick is still the likely starter this week.

It might be because I'm a long time suffering Husky fan but I saw some positive signs in the loss.

I liked what Schwenke did in his first start.

Huge upgrade over Rob Turner.

The problem is there is way more to being a complete RB than just that and it's really all he's good at. He has MAJOR deficiencies that manifest themselves on just about any fundamental, staple running play. That said, he was not the problem today, so I won't rail on him too much, but he needs to be a change of pace back/space player. Problem with that is we paid him $53M, so there's really no choice other than to "feature" him.

Initial viewing, I thought Schwenke did a very good job, way better than Turner. Edwards was unimpressive and we missed Morgan badly. We also another pass rusher on the DL still. Reynaud is a turd. Britt is a turd. Love Kendall Wright, that guy would kill it on a more consistent offensive team. Schedule lightens up a good bit from here on out, need to take advantage of it. Niners fans at the stadium were very obnoxious, sore winners. I've had a lot of good experiences with opposing fans, not them.

As much as it pains me to say this, I think the most prudent thing would be to hold onto Britt for the rest of this season because (a.) he's still likely better than Preston at this point & (b.) he knows the offense better than anyone else we could bring in at this point.

All that said, Britt shouldn't be anywhere near the field, barring injury to Wright, Washington, Williams, and/or Hunter. He's clearly been outplayed by Williams & Hunter -- both of whom should see more playing-time than Britt. Ultimately, though, the pragmatist in me thinks it's best to keep Britt for depth this season and then let him clean out his locker once the season is over.

Reynaud is killing us, just sign someone who is adept at making good decisions of when or when not to field the ball. Return skills be damned.

You can't justify giving Britt any snaps over Hunter or Williams at this point. On a related note Justin is torching cbs deep and for pass interference calls, so why not just give him more playing time and let him run deep routes? it's not like we would be the first team to have success with it.

Agree with the majority of what you said here. CJ is a guy that feeds on getting the ball 15-20 times a game running, I don't feel like we're using him enough there. But it is nice to see the screen play call, something KC runs often with Jamaal Charles.

We have been utilizing him more in the passing game in recent weeks, picking up 11 catches the past 3 weeks after only getting 4 the first 4 weeks.

It'd be nice to take the bye week, get Greene 100% and get some plays to utilize CJ better. Not saying he hasn't been part of the problem, but he seemed to be running good today but didn't get fed enough (largely to being behind)

I do think Schwenke improved us alot, and will continue to.

I'm hoping Britt gets traded this week. I was always a big supporter of him, but he's not playing well and other than a decent block here or there, he doesn't contribute to the games at all.

I think we need to start running Williams as the returner, at least punt return. I think we are regretting IRing Mariani right about now, since I don't think he was really that hurt...

Missed the game, but it seems Jake played ok coming off injury. That's awesome.

Tons of options at returner besides Reynaud. I'd like Kendall Wright to get a shot at returning. We also have Damian Williams who did it at USC, and I believe Khalid Wooten has experience as well. Could always bump him up from the PS. Tommie Campbell would be exciting. Or if all else fails, just throw Britt out there. At this point, ST's may be all he's good for, and I'm pretty sure he did some returning after the Ryan Mouton debacle.

Bye week came at a good time, and we should be favored against St. Louis and J'Ville. Lets get healthy and create momentum heading into the home stretch.
