Default How Would They Project Today? Looking at Past Prospects in Today's NFL

Seems like a fun late offseason thread, how would players be evaluated today in the NFL (given increased scrutiny about character, changes to the game, mindsets of teams towards players ::cough:: Black QBs ::cough::)

Lets start this off with a few.

Oklahoma LB Brian Bosworth
Florida State QB Charlie Ward
UNLV QB Randall Cunningham
Alcorn State QB Steve McNair

I don't think Steve McNair would be viewed differently. He was the third overall pick. He probably would have gone first overall though.

I'd actually say back then NFL teams were much more receptive of small college players than they are today and in a current evaluation his level of competition would be a major cause for concern. Since Joe Flacco (a FBS transfer) there has not been a FCS QB drafted before the 5th Round (Rhett Bomar another FBS transfer). Since 2010 only 2 FCS QBs have been drafted, both in the 7th Round.

Though with the advent of Youtube and Rivals.com how much of a chance is there that McNair would have gone undiscovered and ended up at a FCS school today? Unless he was like Daunte Culpepper who ended up at then FCS UCF because he didn't have the grades to go to a FBS school (though he claims he did but stayed loyal to UCF because they stuck with him despite offers from UF and FSU).
