Peyton would so go down in the 4th quarter against little brother.

Mannings pull a Bart & Lisa and walk out. Carrsweiler Bowl!

I'm still uncomfortable with the Chiefs. Being in the top half of their division should not be much of a problem, so they're in the discussion. It's not a stretch to say what is seemingly seen every year as such a talented team making a jump with the new head on the team's shoulders, but I don't think they quite get there. Indy taking the next step forward this year might be another point of contention, though I do think that will be an interesting division.

Our D will suck as much as it has the past two years, but our offense is going to be insane this year, the OL is improved, our RBs are better than they have been in years and with Randle emerging, our passing game will be even more insane.

I think they hover around 7-9 wins. I really don't see them going to the playoffs unless their D plays lights out.

You have the Bucs about 6 or 7 spots higher than I would rank them right now... And I'm a Buccaneers fan.

The Texans and Ravens dropoffs you have are really steep. I have a hard time seeing either of those teams being a middle of the pack or below team.

RBs and WRs don't matter nearly as much as DL and OL and QB. When the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2011, they were ranked dead last in rushing during the regular season. And I don't see any evidence that Randle is emerging; that's only speculation or wishful thinking.

If the DLine isn't great, they're not making any playoff runs, no matter how great the RBs and WRs are.

Of course, the DLine could still be solid especially if Damontre Moore emerges as a rookie, which isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Arizona ahead of the Rams? That's plain silly talk. The Rams were 3 plays away from 10-6 last and are MUCH better this year.

A lot of teams are a play or two away from being much better or much worse. Very few games are blowouts. 51% of games were one play away from a different outcome (within 8 points or fewer).

But are the Rams better? Sam Bradford is still the QB and that doesn't exactly excite me. His weapons are supposedly better but Jared Cook is inconsistent and you still have basically the same receivers. Tavon Austin is new but he was a reach and I don't have as high hopes for him as others do.

San Francisco and Seattle are better teams and Arizona will be much improved just because Kolb and Skelton are no longer leading the team. Plus there are games agains Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Carolina, Indianapolis, Chicago, and New Orleans (all but Chicago and New Oreleans on the road). This team is 8-8 at best.

I dont totally buy the whole Rams got better theory. They lost Amendola, Steven Jackson and Brandon Gibson, and added Tavon Austin, Jared Cook and Jake Long. Austin is still unproven, Cook is inconsistent, and Long may or may not regain form. And the guys they lost were proven performers. I think it shows the Rams are building something, and I think its gonna take time. That is a ridiculously young group of skill players they have, and that defense still has some holes.

As for the Cardinals, I absolutely love that passing offense. Palmer I hate cuz he forces too many throws, but I dont think thats gonna be an issue throwing to this group of receivers. He has the arm to make every throw and this group of receivers can give defenses fits. I dunno if Mendenhall and Ryan Williams will be healthy, but I am a big fan of Stepfan Taylor and believe he can be their workhorse if need be. Their defense has plenty talent. I see them having a damn good year.

18 is a pretty harsh drop off for the Ravens. I'm not arguing at top 5 spot but we are clearly better than some of those teams above them.

The NFCW is a very talented division. Anyone of those teams could win against each other. I don't personally have faith in Palmer or Bradford so I see those two as the bottom two teams probably. Just because your team is more talented or better this year doesn't mean you will win more games.

I think it shows the Rams are building something, and I think its gonna take time. That is a ridiculously young group of skill players they have, and that defense still has some holes.
Amendola, Steven Jackson, and Brandon Gibson are basically meaningless to the Rams.

RBs are the easiest position to replace in the NFL, and Jackson wasn't exactly in his prime the past few years in St. Louis anyway. They can just plug any old free agent / late round pick into their offense and as long as Bradford plays well they'll be fine.

Amendola and Gibson are just UDFA types who are decent, but not special or irreplaceable. They'll be fine there are well if Bradford plays well, as the QB makes the WR and not the other way around.

The defense is stacked with talent on the front four. And I like Janoris Jenkins taking the next step and turning into a top-10 CB this year, and Cortland Finnegan will be solid once again.

Everyone is sleeping on Rivers. This guy was a top-3 QB not too long ago. I think he's in line for an MVP caliber season. Everyone else in that division has question marks. Can Manning stay upright and playing like an All-Pro forever? No. The Chiefs were the worst team in the NFL last year. Are they going to bounce back past .500 that quickly? Probably not. The Raiders suck.

I'm not so sold on the Cowboys being there, but I'm dead set on the Chargers being the AFC rep in the Super Bowl.

It's either going to be the Cowboys or Bears as the NFC rep.

Rivers has been declining and the Chargers aren't really that talented.

Browns are doing better but they are clearly still the #4 team in the AFCN.

Manning is playing at a high level at age 34+ and Rivers is already declining in his late 20s?

Or is it that Rivers simply had a bad year behind a bad O-Line?

How many people were saying that Manning was declining after his poor 2010 season? I know some people were.

Of course, that was on a Colts team with a bad O-Line. I see the same thing from Rivers.

"Clearly". Despite the fact that the Browns have more defensive talent on their roster than either the Ravens or Steelers.

You're still thinking about the Ravens and Steelers players as if this is still 2008-2010.

The whole point of this is to look FORWARD into the future. Don't look at the Steelers superstars based on what they did 2-3 years ago. Think about all those older players based on what they will (or won't) do in the future. The Browns have young guys who are the superstars of the next generation.
