Default Preseason Power Rankings: #29 runoff (for the Titans fans)

Just because the Titans fans are angry that Cleveland wasn't in the last poll, I will give the board the opportunity to vote between Cleveland and Tennessee for #29. If Cleveland gets enough votes, the Titans will be slotted for #28 instead of 29.

So in light of Tennessee receiving more than twice as many votes as the next closest team, who is the worse team: Cleveland or Tennessee?

I went with Cleveland. I just feel like there is more talent on the Titans right now, and I like how they upgraded their o-line as well. I'm also a believer in Locker now that he is healthy.

So now the people who voted elsewhere need to figure out who they dislike more between the Titans and the Browns.

Browns 2013 super bowl.

I actually like the Browns team and think Weeden is a NFL QB.

I voted for Philly in the original.

LOL what's the point of even doing a re-do if it's just gonna be the 2 teams? People would have still voted for other teams as well.

Wow. Are you really going to make a big fuss over this?

Here is the point.

Clearly the Tennessee Titans are the board's pick for #29 or #28. There was not even 1 team that had half as many votes as Tennessee in the full vote. So if Cleveland happened to receive the vote for #29, guess what, we would be in the same spot with Titans fans getting butthurt and humiliated all over again seeing their team get squashed in another poll.

So I thought I would save you the agony of yet another humiliating defeat and in the process filter out the white noise of a single vote here or there going to another team.

Do you really think myself or any other Titans fans really care about being placed #29 in a power ranking on a message board?

Please get over yourself. I don't care where the Titans fall in some meaningless poll, I was simply saying it doesn't make sense to go through the work of starting anotherpoll only to limit the choice to 2 teams when people were voting for other teams in the first place.

Jets should be better than Titans this year and I think the Browns are better than both...not sure about this re-do.

Just based on what I saw with my own eyes last year, this QB made Mark Sanchez look like he was a Pro Bowl QB.

He made Tebow look like a precision passer.

Dec 23, 2012

Jake Locker
#10 | QB | Titans
13/30, 140 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT

Green Bay Packers: 55
Tennessee Tuxedos: 7

Jake Locker and the Titans (5-10) had a miserable day. Locker was sacked seven times and picked off twice, and Tennessee needed until 1:39 left in the game to avoid the shutout.

Locker wasn’t as lucky, hanging around until the end and finishing with a flourish, with a cosmetic garbage touchdown lifting his passer rating to 41.0 (after a 0.0 first half).

The loss drops the Titans to 5-10, and raises serious questions about the future of both Locker and coach Mike Munchak in Tennessee.

I like the titans a lot more than the Browns. They've got better weapons for their inexperienced QB, their OL is better, their running game will be better. The Browns have the better secondary and maybe pass rushers, but the Titans offense will be a lot better with a lot more upside to it.

I agree for the most part. Last season our defenses were very similar in sacks, interceptions, passing yards allowed. We were even ranked pretty similar in rushing stats too.

I disagree referring to the secondary and the pass rushers however.

Joe Haden and TJ Ward are slightly better than Jason McCourty and Bernard Pollard/George Wilson I'd say. But ATV, Michael Griffin and Coty Sensabaugh are way better than Buster Skrine, Leon McFadden and Tashaun Gipson.

It's hard to truly compare a 3-4 D and a 4-3 D on pass rushers. The Browns actual D-Line will offer little as a pass rush. If you compare all 3 of them with the Titans DTs, the Titans DTs offer more of a pass rush than the Browns.

At the LBer position they have Paul Kruger who posted a 9sack year and was overpaid who is coming off a 7 sack season. Both are solid players. In comparison the Titans DEs are coming off a combined 12.5 sacks. They drafted Barkevious Migno in the 1st.

The Titans played a LB @ DE on passing downs who got 6 sacks, and use their LBers in blitzes alot where WLB Zach brown picked up 5.5. Overall I feel the Titans have more talent on both sides of the ball.

This is kind of what I was saying. You have x amount of people who voted for the Eagles because they think the Eagles are the 29th ranked team in the league, now they are forced to choose from two teams that they may have ranked 25 or 26 etc. and rank them 29th.

Their o-line is not much better if even better at all https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...nsive-lines/4/ (there are some stats for you, granted last year we were in a ******* AWFUL offense that didn't suit our QB at all with one of the most unorganized pieces of **** head coaches I have ever seen /endrant).

Gordon is on par with Britt and Little should be as good if not better than Wright with the insane amount of work he has put in this off-season. Their run game is comparable especially if Richardson is healthy, and at tight end Cameron could be the biggest riser in the league.

The Browns defense could be top 10 in the league this year, but everything at this point is purely speculation.

Titans O-Line > Browns O-Line
Britt, Wright, Washington > Gordon, Little, Bess

No - I'll take the best left tackle in the league, a top 5 center, and one of the best young right tackle in the game with a hell of a guard in Greco. We have one "weak spot" at right guard.

No - Britt hasn't been able to stay on the field in the past 3 years and has never equaled the amount of yards Gordon put up in his ROOKIE season. Little showed more as a rookie second round pick coming off a year without playing and being new to a receiver than Wright did in his first year in the pros. We also played in an offense last year that played to none of our players strengths with a head coach who had no idea what he was doing, but lets completely ignore that. On top of what I just stated, we also have Davone Bess who is extremely underrated as a slot receiver and moving the chains. Our #4 is Travis Benjamin who has been catching everything in camp and has huge upside as a punt returner.

Depends - Richardson healthy and the passing game opened up could result in a ridiculously productive year from Richardson, this is yet to be determined, but Richardson put up ~1k yards and over 10 touchdowns injured the entire year, in a ****** offensive scheme.

Maybe - You list a guy on the PUP, someone who didn't put up over 300 yards, and someone with 50 yards as being "better" than our group? At least I am modest enough to say maybe, if Cameron develops into the player he should with Turner and Chud the Browns should be heavily favored here.

I''ll take the top 5 LT, Top 5 LG, the guy who graded out as the 11th center last season (Mack graded 9th BTW), the best G prospect to come out in years and the most complete RT in the game.

Because Britt has played in a primarily run based offense that makes Gordon better than Britt? Great logic. Kendall Wright hardly even started as a rookie, so to put up the #s he did as a #3 was pretty solid. Why you want to compare your #2 WR to our #3 from last season is beyond me. He's lost 15 pounds and is much quicker this season as well. "We also played in an offense last year that played to none of our players strengths" Ditto. On top of that we have Nate Washington, who's pretty underrated and the most successful WR of either duos. We also have a very good #4 who's been catching everything in camp. His names Damian Williams. In addition, we have a #5 who's a 2nd round rookie. We also have a pro bowl returner somewhere there as well.

This is the most debatable in my opinion. I'd take CJ and Greene everyday though. Richardson doesn't have the explosiveness CJ does.

So because someone is currently on PUP he doesn't count? Gotcha. You downgrade Stevens for not having 300, yet Cameron never has? Taylor Thompson has looked much improved as a pass catcher and is an excellent run blocker. I guess I'm the only one that looks at blocking ability as a TE as well.

Who would you rather have as your #1 WR

Kenny Britt or Josh Gordon (take suspension out of equation)?

Agree to disagree, every ranking you will find will have Cleveland's higher and it's not by chance. Not like this can really be proven one way or the ohter.

I said Britt hasn't been able to stay on the field the past 3 years and Gordon in one year has put up more yards than Britt has in any of his 4 years. Don't take what I say out of context.

Fine, I'll compare Bess to Washington...

Bess - 3,447 yards since 2008
Washington - 3,656 yards since 2008

That is comparing the guy who is our current #3 and slot receiver to your #1/2 depending on if Britt can stay healthy.

Turner and Chud should be a bigger boost for Weeden and this offense than Loggains is for the Titans, unless you think Loggains is a better offensive coordinator than Turner is.

Nate Washington is underrated and most accomplished of the 2 groups, will give you that.

Hardly any back in the league has the explosiveness as CJ. If Richardson stays healthy there is absolutely no reason he is not 1,300+ yards a year rusher and 400+ yards receiving back.

They do count. I just said saying something is greater than something else is pointless when the players you have haven't even amassed 300 yards in a year... Cameron is great athlete adjusting to the tight end position with two of the best tight end coaches in the league. All I was saying is I like his chances to succeed the most out of the group.

I would take Gordon but that would be like saying take injuries out of the question for Britt... Gordon has been a moron off the field with drug use and is one mistake away from being suspended a year. Based purely on ability the dude has a chance to be a top 10 receiver, if he puts the effort forth.

Good debate with you WinslowBodden,

There's really not anything we can prove at the moment. Obviously both have good young talent that still needs to develop, and hopefully the new playcalling can go a long way for both squads.

Browns have outscored opponents when both #1 teams are on the field 34-3 this preseason.
