Cleveland actually does have a good guard in John Greco...and their right tackle was at least good last season. That's like three and a half good linemen.

Seriously, it's not the line. Alabama running backs just suck.

Well he sure did try to get Luck

Quote:
In fact, Holmgren said he offered Indy general manager Ryan Grigson all of the Browns' draft picks last year to move up to the top spot and take Luck.

"I talked to him last year (at the owners meetings) before we made the trade (to move up and get Richardson),'' he told the radio station. "I said, 'I'll give you all of our draft picks for the No. 1 pick and I'll take Luck. I'll give the whole draft to you.
You would think he would have been a little more open to giving up enough to get Griffin if that was the case though. Is RGIII Luck, no. But he's 100 times better than any QB Cleveland has had in the past 10 years and better than anyone they can get in at least the next couple drafts after that year.

Everyone's initial reaction that the Browns made a terrible trade changed in this thread to Trent Richardson sucks. Richardson is getting too much negative talk in this thread. He hasn't been as good as most thought, but he is in his second year. Let's not get carried away with calling him a bust and some type of mediocre player that was barely worth a second round draft pick. He's 22 years old.

Both teams got good deals. Richardson will help the Colts more than he could help the Browns. That's the simple fact of it. The pressure is on the Browns to do something they never do: make high draft picks work, and draft a 'franchise' QB.

I hope that's the case. History says though that of the top 2 QBs drafted in any draft, one usually works out and the other not so much. It's always better to get the top QB and not the consolation prize (with the rare exception of years when there are two can't miss QBs like 2012 and 2004).

As long as the Browns let Mack follow O'hara to NYC, I won't really care too much how they mess up the draft.

Looks like we flipped one bad owner for another, this franchise is the pits.

Holmgren was such a ******* disaster for this franchise. Can't pin what the past regime did on this one.

If we blow our 7 picks in the first 4 rounds then this regime deserves it.

Why do we keep blaming the new regime for the mistakes the old one made?

And if we all readily acknowledge that the old regime made mistakes, why should this new regime be obligated on continuing to employ those mistakes?

Am I missing something here? Isn't that also a dumb move?

The Browns are a collective failure which is why people ignore the whole regime change, we've had so many in the past that people just assume we will always suck.

As far as our offensive line, we played two of the best pass rushes without our #1 receiver, teams were just playing man coverage and absolutely teeing off on us. This limited our passing game and running game, because quite frankly without Josh Gordon we are completely mismatched and suck.

Yes, we suck without our drug addict second year receiver :[

You guys are on the come up. I'm expecting big things from the browns if they re-sign Joe Haden (2nd best CB in the league) and have a good draft.

Mack is a free agent this year and won't talk during the season.

Haden is the ONLY player that if we traded today I would be absolutely pissed. He is so underrated by some people it's not even funny.

You don't have to tell me. I've been saying for the past 2 years that Joe Haden is the 2nd best CB in the league. Dude is as close to Revis as we have in the league.

1. Revis

2. Haden
3. Sherman

Haha yeah he's good which is why I really REALLY wanted us to get a good corner opposite of him this offseason, oh well. I think the defense is pretty much set in stone, with a couple more acquisitions this offseason it will be a power house.

The offense needs a quarterback, til then we will suck.

But that's what's so great about your future, you're only a couple of pieces away and if you can get that qb you need, this team is legit. That's why I don't get why Brown fans are so angry. You're almost there, and this move gives you ammo to get the missing piece you desperately need.

If I'm a Browns fan I'm excited about the future right now. This team is close.

I'd probably kill someone to get Haden and Mack on the giants and not even feel too bad.

People are angry because this could have been the year, not next year. If the previous regime had unloaded three first rounders (Richardson Weeden and Mingo, hell maybe not even Mingo if we had won more last year) for RG3 and taken Gordon still, we would be sitting here with a much better base of talent than we currently are. It also sucks because I really wanted to do that trade and grab Lamar Miller last year as a running back but that never happened.

People are angry because both of our first rounders from 2012 are going to be gone after this year and the guy who we thought was the face of our franchise is on another team. It's just such a typical Cleveland scenario and it's getting old. People were beyond hyped going into this year, and I honestly believe the first two games play out completely different if Gordon is healthy. I'm willing to say I think Richardson would still be a Brown and we would be 1-1 if Gordon hadn't gotten himself suspended and our team was able to pass at all in the first two games.

Such as life, gotta move on. Here's to hoping Dion Lewis returns next year and makes us forget about Richardson... He looked pretty shifty in pre season then goes and breaks his leg :[

It's all the failure. They've squandered prime ammo before and when Holmgren and the "new regime" of that time came in there was hope to. So there's a little deja vu going on with them. But I don't care, **** Cleveland, it's the only city and state that I just loathe, not dislike or hate being in, I legitimately hate that whole ******* place, so I like see them fail.

That's why this is so exciting, cause they are really set up nicely...for them to draft the next Blaine Gabbert and squander it all again!

I don't understand the hatred some people have for Ohio. Unless you hate Buckeyes fans for some reason I honestly do not get it one bit. What an odd place to "loathe"

3. Sherman
I actually agree with this list although I'm open in the next few months to swapping it around, Revis has a little something to prove if you ask me. Anyway I'm really just posting so that I can once again grace this site with the most epic CB image in recent memory to get him in the conversation.

Is he really though? I don't think I've ever seen him not ranked in the top 5, and he's almost always in the top 3.

Unless you're talking about being underrated by the average fan in real life, but that doesn't count because they don't know anything about anything.

That is an amazing picture.

But of an overrated player.

only overrated because he doesn't play in the rain enough. Rain is his spinach. He needs to get out of AZ.

Peterson gives up a lot of plays. I don't understand where this lockdown nonsense comes from.

Is it because he looks like a million bucks? Or bc he returns punts and does a bunch of fancy things on offense that's meaningless?

Bc every time I see him up against a stud WR I see him give up a bunch of yards every time. And the occasional TD.

He's not a lockdown CB. The above 3 are definitely better than him. Is he the 4th best in the league? Debatable. But I think after those 3 there's a significant drop off. He doesn't belong in the same tier as those guys.
