Default 2013 49ers Gameday Thread: Week 4: 49ers at Rams.

Gut-check time. Talk about adversity. The 49ers are going into this game at 1-2, the offense looks like ****, the defense looks like a relic of a once great unit, coming off a short week, on the road, no Patrick Willis, no Aldon Smith, and most likely no Vernon Davis. Not the greatest hand to be playing with. Honestly I'm not sure how we're going to win this game. All I ask for is that we at least show some life on offense. We've scored ten points in the last two weeks and it's super frustrating because you actually have talented players on the roster, yet they're not performing. It's almost like it defies logic. It will be interesting to see how the team attacks the Rams. Fisher is no joke of a head coach and he'll be ready. I hope the defense doesn't make Sam Bradford look like Dan Fouts and Tavon Austin look like Randy Moss did in his rookie year. I've already heard a lot of other 49ers fans pick the Rams to win the game. I'll be picking the 49ers, but if we have a third straight game where it just seems like we are unprepared or can't get anything going on offense I'm going to scream. Harbaugh and company are better than this and it shouldn't be happening. Just please no more blowouts. GO NINERS.

Time to right the ship and get back to some Niner-style a$$ whooping! Rams played them tough twice last year but the Niners are the more talented team. They just have to go out there and prove it, getting away from some of the big mistakes and downfalls that have led to their back to back massacres.

Time to dust off, man up and play some smart, efficient football.

Run, run and run the ball. Cowboys ran for around 200 yards on the Rams defense and we should be able to do the same. Hopefully, the horrible play calling doesnt show up in this game but at the same time, im expecting it to show up. We need to run the ball down their throats, control the clock and be more dominant up front on the OL. After the Packers game, it seems like every player on the team has regressed.

Does anyone know who's starting for Willis and Aldon? I'm hoping Lemonier starts for Aldon.

UGH. Neither are pass rushers. They should start Lemonier while Aldon is gone. Give him a chance to see what he can do in meaningful games.

Lemonier can be used in the role Aldon had as a rookie. Skuta is more like Haralson where he can do it but its more the overal game why he gets the nod instead of pure pass rush.

And Skuta lead the team in sacks in preseason. There's no reason to down him simply because we're ALL excited to see Lemonier.

The 49ers need to get points on the board from the jump against the Rams. They haven't scored on their first possession since playing the Patriots last season. I hope Roman has a good gameplan. His previous two have been lackluster to say the least. Someone needs to step up at receiver too.

Rams haven't scored in the first quarter all season so jumping on them early would be a nice opportunity to control the game and commit to the run, controlling time of possession. Something tells me this may be a relatively low-scoring affair.

i'm torn. on one hand, i can't see us fixing our pass game issues in only 3 days. on the other hand, we didn't have a whole lot of pass game issues until only 11 days ago. i mean we did have some issues, but we were still producing through the air. It feels like (at least in 2013) we went from the Greatest show on turf to the Jim Hostler 49ers in a millisecond.

i'm also concerned with traveling halfway across the country on 3 days rest and missing so many key players (aldon out, willis, vd, aso all questionable, mcdonald and anthony davis playing hurt, etc...). and facing a team thats had our number.

it kind of feels like we'll get an ugly win at best.

LaMichael James and Jon Baldwin are both active, along with a hobbled VD. Nnamdi and Willis are both out. Perhaps they are planning to bring some more firepower to the party. I sure hope so.

I hope you realize it doesn't work that way. Jacobs is on PS. In order to bring him onto the 53 theyd have to cut someone. Why would they have done that when Baldwin and Harper hadn't even dressed yet?

Anyways, we won. I feel "decent" about the win. We ran the ball down their throats, which is what we needed. Greg Roman got his head out of his ass in the second quarter. Earlier he was pissing me off (A draw on 3rd and 11?). Kaepernick looked hot and cold. He really has no vertical threats to help him, but he also left some plays on the field. Vernon Davis was streaking down the field at one point and Kaepernick didn't even see him. It was Alex Smith-esque. I'll take it, but we really can't be that horrible in the passing game against Houston. Their offense won't just stall on drives and get nothing done. At least we have 11 days to prepare for that. Maybe Harbaugh and Baalke look into adding to the group of receivers and executes a trade. Josh Gordon anyone?

The defense played great and dominated the Rams "run game". Although their run game is already horrible. Bowman had a Hall of Fame game. Brooks came on strong late, and Glenn Dorsey has been good as a nose tackle. Tarrell Brown has been "meh". I was impressed with Brock more than I've been impressed with Asomugha all season. Even Whitner got his roll on. And nice debut by Lemonier. I'm just glad we're 2-2. No Aldon? No problem.

Because Fangio is stubborn and wants to only get pressure with 4. We blitz the least out of any 3-4 team the past two seasons. I've been saying this for awhile now but Fangio needs to unleash these blitz packages more often. He needs to scheme pressure in alot of instances. You can't just rely on pressure from 4 players EVERY down, EVERY game. That's why these guys wore down towards the end of the season last year. We have very good blitzing ILBs and a bevy of solid back-up OLBs. We should be using some exotic personnel groupings and throwing offenses different looks. Plus we FINALLY have a NT who can generate some push against the pass....he can use all of these and schem up some great zone-blitz looks and blitz packages. Yet he doesn't become aggressive until Aldon's situation forces his hand. He needs a Rex Ryan infusion as a DC.

And glad to see the sky isn't still falling around here...

Yeah I don't know. Fangio needs to get off his high horse.

Game started crappy especially after Dawson missed the FG but thankfully, it went good and we dominated the LOS on both sides of the ball. We finally ran the ball instead of passing a million times and look at the result...a 35-11 win.

Gore was great and Bowman was a beast. Overall, a good game by our entire team and after the first quarter, better play calling both ways. Hopefully, that trend continues.

As for trading for a WR, I dont see it happening unless they think Crabtree cant come back. And I have no interest in trading for Josh Gordon. One more screw up and he's looking at a one year suspension. We dont need an Aldon Smith on offense.

If we run the ball and Roman actually calls a good game, the lack of a top tier WR wont hurt us as much as if we just pass every down.

P.S. - What an awesome way to kickoff my birthday weekend. :D

My girlfriend is a 5'2 120 pound thin slim slender brunette babe with a gorgeous face and a great body. November 1st will be 2 1/2 years that I have been with her and quite honestly, I get more attracted to her every day. I would post a picture of her but since im American Italian and she's Muslim, that probably wouldnt be a good idea. In fact, I know that it wouldnt be a good idea. LOL. Of course, she's more Americanized than majority of Muslims and dresses very elegant, classy and sexy at the same time. The truly funny part is that she has more in common with me and my Mom than she does her own family. Even funnier is the fact that we get along great, have the same mentality and mindset which you wouldnt think is possible but yet, it is. As my friend Joey says, me and my babe are perfect for each other. Just a shame that her religion and situation doesnt allow her to fully see and understand that.

As for that model, she's hot and im guessing is from Victoria's Secret which is my babe's favorite store. And I know most men hate going shopping with their girlfriend or wife and while I agree, when it comes to VS, I want to go because after all, the stuff there is what I'll eventually see my babe wearing. Yay me!!! :D

And I think that's more than enough info. LOL.
