He may fall into the third tier of QBs but Connor Shaw is growing on me - I think he will have a career as solid number 2.

JC - I would take McCarron or Carr out of that group. Carr has the most physical ability and McCarron would be a guy I think could start his rookie year as well as develop arm strength while in the pros. I don't know enough about Garapollo but based on what I have heard he seems to be someone alot of scouts like.

Can anyone on the list be a game changer at QB?

I think Carr may have the most upside followed by Murray who is getting put down because of all the injuries to Georgia. McCarron still worries me a lot, yes, he is very productive, however I never see him challanged with a pass rush, he is always clean when throwing the ball and the NFL will never provide him with that type of protection.

Morris, Boyd and Hundley have all slipped in recent weeks and have taken deep drops on draft boards. I don't think Garapollo is in the discussion and I'll have to wait till the combine to assess him.

Derek Carr is intriguing. A lot of similarities between him and Matt Ryan. However, I do not like his inconsistent footwork. That needs to be cleaned up.

Morris to me is Josh Freeman. Can look good at times, but is 50/50 on his performances. He's either really good, or really bad. Day 3 prospect with upside if he can find a middle.

You are the Bears you franchise Jay and want to get a young QB for Trestman to groom.

If we are picking 15-17 what do you do?

Draft defense and wait on QB. Either Carr/Mettenberger in the 2nd or Garoppolo in the 3rd. I still think best case is Jay comes back....picks up where he left off and gets a multi-year deal. I can't see many scenarios where a QB would be the first round pick, even if Jay is allowed to leave.

Good comparison. Not a fan of Morris. Best arm in college football. Will make a throw only he can make (15-20 yard out from opposite hash with velocity) then short throw a post down the middle of the field. I don't see him ever gaining that consistency.

Carr really impressed me last night. He has a huge arm and amazingly quick release - should be a riser IMO.

I'm a big fan of Derek Carr. Frankly, I think David would have been a good QB had he not been ruined by all those sacks early on. I think if the Bears have to make a transition, the one from Cutler to Carr would be pretty smooth. I think they are similar type QBs, especially coming out of college. Carr doesn't have Cutler's arm, but it's not bad at all. Both have sneaky mobility and can throw better than given credit for on the move. Both also have footwork issues and can make mistakes trying to use their big arms to fit the ball into places they shouldn't be throwing it. Both are guys that you like to get the ball out of their hands quickly, mixing him some deep shots once you have the defense on their heels.

I totally agree - Cutler is actually a really good comparison. I think Carr would do well in the Bears offense - he just needs to clean up and refine his mechanics but as a prospect he has everything a team would look for in a starting QB.

Case Keenums success is probably a good thing for Aaron Murray as they are pretty much the same size.

Tajh Boyd is Akili Smith to me. He isn't accurate and when pressured he is more shook then a guy with parkinsons. Having the opportunity to throw the ball to guys like Hopkins and Watkins have made this guy look a hell of a lot better than he really is IMO.

Stephen Morris is another slouch. He is a mix of Josh Freeman and JP Losman to me. He does have the best arm in the class but his accuracy is whack and he can't read defenses.

I think AJ McCarron, Aaron Murray, and Blake Bortles are the wise choices as second tier guys.

McCarron reminds me of Eli Manning.
Murray reminds me of Drew Brees.
Bortles reminds me of Phillip Rivers.

Aaron Murray should be towards the bottom of tier 2 QBs. Dude is a flake.

McCarron is a difficult assessment because is he a quick decision maker of is it that he does not fear pressure and he throws every pass with clean feet. That is what concerns me with him is that we have seen him be solid in the perfect situation for a QB.

I have questions about Murray,

1. Is he a quick enough decision maker to overcome his lack of measurables?
2. How will he handle pressure? Are his mistakes at Georgia from trying to do to much.

What I was impressed with Keenum last night was that his back foot hit the end of the drop and he threw the ball with confidence to a WR and had faith in his decision. He also did not make the big mistake when pressured.

Shaw has below average size and a puny arm. Running QBs who are undersized usually get concussions and don't last long too. I think he might stick as a #3 for a few years before disappearing.

Derek Carr profiles as bad Jay. We don't need another bad Jay.

Opinions on Kenny Guiton? Ridiculously productive in his backup and decent size, I don't know about his arm strength. Any Buckeye fans with a report?

Urban Meyer backup QB, would barely offer him a tryout.
