I think you're forgetting about a team in the bowl's own backyard...although I guess if they lost again to FSU they'd be in the same situation as Clemson.

Stanford is good, but they seem to settle for field goals too much. Kicked 4 tonight, had a 5th blocked. Gotta turn those into touchdowns.

Question is, how far down does Oregon fall now? I imagine it could only be 2 spots to 6th, with Stanford and Baylor both moving up a spot to surpass them.

man I can legitimately see us having 4 undefeated teams this year with Alabama, FSU, OSU and Baylor. I do think at least 2 will lose a game though, probably Baylor and if I would say, OSU would be my next choice to lose.

I think Alabama is much more likely to lose than Ohio State. They've got LSU, Auburn and then presumably whoever wins the East.

I could see them picking UCF because that will draw a local fan base that will travel, but they don't have to. If Notre Dame finishes in the top 14 and gets 9 wins I think the Orange Bowl would jump on that because that's the best you can ask for if your a bowl committee, it's not hard to get rid of ticket allotments when you have ND playing. If Miami wins out and finishes in the top 14 the OBC would be going crazy about having a potential Miami vs Notre Dame matchup. That's a dream come true for them. The could pass on UCF to one of the other bowls that picks last.
The Orange Bowl has the last pick this year. They are not allowed to pass on UCF (the AAC has an automatic bid) so that is why I think UCF goes to the Orange.

No just tears and understanding that you will never see the playoffs ever again.

Good win. Now I root for Bama the rest of the season because I want them in the Championship.

You sure that's what you really want? OSU would be the easier match up lol.

Yeah, I know a lot of people say they want to play the best. Screw that, I'm cheering for LSU tomorrow because that gives FSU the easiest path to the championship.

They'll get the second overall pick if FSU goes to the NCG and then according to the BCS website they have the first pick among at large schools.

Quote:
4. After steps No. 1, 2, and 3 have been completed, any bowl with an unfilled slot shall select a team from the automatic qualifiers and/or at-large teams in the following order:
• January 2011 games - Sugar, Orange, Fiesta
• January 2012 games - Fiesta, Sugar, Orange
• January 2013 games - Fiesta, Sugar, Orange
• January 2014 games - Orange, Sugar, Fiesta
If UCF is eligible they don't have to pick them, the Orange Bowl got stuck with NIU last year because they had the last pick (which is why they have the first pick this year) and it's not like the Orange Bowl has a contract with the AAC. If there's no team from a non AQ conference the last team to get picked is usually the team from the AAC. The exception being last year when the AAC team was the second to last team to be picked (Louisville/Sugar Bowl) because there was a non AQ conference team (NIU/Orange Bowl).

I wouldn't cry about smashing OSU but I would really like to watch FSU get a shot at Bama.

Just a personal preference.

I agree, FSU right now is the program that most resembles Bama in my opinion. I'd love to see Jimbo get a chance to take on his mentor. I compare everyone to Nick Saban in everything, like he's the standard, his teams don't lose. In my opinion Jameis Winston is the Nick Saban of QBs. I know it's early in his career and it sounds silly, but the kid has this moxie about him that I can never find myself picking against him, just like I'll never pick against Saban. If Bama and FSU meet, it'd be hard to pick because I have so much confidence in Jameis and Saban.

Okay, I misread that. I saw 2013 bowls and since this is 2013 currently, I thought that was the tie breaker. But the games will be played in 2014 so that is the order they use. In that scenario, it may look like:

National Championship: Alabama vs. Florida State
Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Stanford
Fiesta: Baylor vs. Fresno State
Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Oregon
Sugar Bowl: South Carolina vs. UCF

FSU could still easily lose to Florida or in the ACC Championship game. Bama could still easily lose to LSU, Auburn, or in the SEC Championship game.

When will people learn to stop speaking in absolutes?

When someone says may they aren't speaking in absolutes.

National Championship: Alabama vs. Florida State
Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Stanford
Fiesta: Baylor vs. Fresno State
Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Oregon
Sugar Bowl: South Carolina vs. UCF
I don't think the Orange Bowl picks Oregon. They've been screwed in the past because their fans didn't travel well and the Orange Bowl Committee wouldn't pick a team about as far away from Miami as possible. Clemson is a viable option and with their second pick I think they would take Miami, a Clemson Miami matchup would be a good game. The committee would love that because Clemson travels well and is close and Miami is local. People have also been saying the Orange Bowl could go to a Big 10 team since they have great fans and always travel well and buy up their ticket allotment, but I cant think of a Big 10 at large worth picking.

You can't have three teams from the same conference in the BCS.

As for a Big 10 at large, Michigan State, maybe.

The Orange Bowl couldn't take Miami. That's three ACC teams.

Oh. That'd be crazy if Clemson wins out and doesn't make a BCS bowl. I wonder if the Orange Bowl would have the guts to take Miami with their first overall pick if they wanted them that bad, and that would screw Clemson. Clemson ND would be a solid matchup that they'd like to have if ND finished in the top 14 and gets to nine wins.
