Frosted Tips is never wrong. Just like when he broke that Miles was going to Michigan.

Not believing anything until I see what unfolds at UT. Still not fully convinced Mack is gone. He's got two billionaire boosters on his side.

I have a feeling Mack is staying for next season, at least. They could not have screwed up this situation any worse.

I hear multiple people citing sources but really I just think people are playing copycat on this.

EDIT: U of Alabama twitter account confirms it. I need to stop thinking everything is a work or a conspiracy.

So what are the chances he bolts for the NFL in the next couple of years? I could see him taking over for Coach Hoodie in NE when he takes a job in the front office after Tommy Terrific hangs em up.

So I'm gathering Saban let the Texas rumors float a while and got Alabama to give him more money? Shocker.

All depends on how many more titles he wins but I think he'd want to go somewhere with a stable situation. Who knows what the Pats will look like post Brady & Bill.

Well this thread has been a failure from start to finish.

What's the Bama QB situation going forward?

I think Cooper Bateman starts next year. People are going to speculate that Coker will transfer there, I don't know if that's going to happen. He's from state but they have a lot of talent coming in at the position. Should be interesting with Bateman a RS Freshman in 2014, David Cornwell a Freshman in 2014, and Ricky Town a Freshman in 2015.

Blake Sims has been the backup the past two years, I haven't watched a lot of his snaps but doesn't seem like a candidate to start.

This is exactly what happened. His agent just let things stew for a while and let all kinds of rumors develop to get him more money at Alabama.

Texas is a better situation but Alabama ain't bad. Big money, lots of respect and complete control. At Texas he would have had to answer to someone, and at Bama he doesn't.

Cornwell is from Oklahoma and is a prostyle QB, Rivals has him ranked 5th for prostyle QBS. Town is one of the two best prostyle QBs in the 2015 class, it's between him and Josh Rosen. Town is from California and is first in both Scout and 24/7s QB rankings, but Rivals has him behind Rosen. He's a five star.

Bateman signed last year and redshirted this year. He was a four star from Utah. He was ranked 11th by Rivals in the prostyle QB category. However, I think he has a little bit more mobility than Town and Cornwell. He seems like he'd be really good fit with Doug Nussmeier.

Cornwell is the biggest, 6'5 235.

Cornwell went/goes to my former rival high school, whatever his situation may be after tearing his ACL, but I streamed our high school rivalry game this year (we won of course). He could make some really nice throws however I wasn't overly impressed overall. Probably dealt with the worst O-Line I've ever seen for a high school team as we sacked him around 10 times in the game which doesn't help. I haven't seen him throw a football outside of that game so my opinion is almost completely irrelevant, but is he talented enough to take over that Bama team next year from other peoples perspectives?

I thought Dan Wetzel did a good job summing up why Saban didn't leave.

Quote:
Besides, there is nothing in Austin that Saban doesn't have in Tuscaloosa. Perhaps in some spread sheet/parlor game comparison Texas is a job with greater resources than Alabama. None of that has anything to do with Saban's reality.

Yes, UT has more money than just about anyone. But Alabama has all the money Saban needs – not only in salary but to employ a massive staff of assistants, scouts and support people.

And, sure, the state of Texas produces more top high school talent than Alabama, but recruiting players talented enough to win national championships is hardly Saban's problem. Three titles in four years should be proof enough.

Saban looks like he also has another dominant recruiting class on the way. (USA Today)
His current top-ranked recruiting class may prove it even more, however.
Of the Crimson Tide's 23 current verbal commitments, just four are from Alabama. Five-star recruits, per Rivals.com, from Florida, Louisiana and Virginia have all pledged. Four-star commits hail from Arkansas, California, Florida, Louisiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina and, yes, Texas. He'll probably pick up a couple more.

I didn't know he tore his ACL, but that's not something I think he can come back from in time for next season. It's already hard enough to make the transition as a QB from HS to college. I can't imagine anyone doing it while rehabbing an ALC. I bet he redshirts and sits the year out. Hopefully Bateman is good enough. Their QB who comes in when it's a blow out now doesn't pass much and I don't think he can. He mostly just runs option stuff when he's in there and rarely passes.

If your current job would match pay, and provided a fantastic work environment, then who the hell would want to deal with the multitudes of big swinging dicks at UT? Seriously there are so many egos and factions within the collection of mega rich personalities at UT it's ridiculous.

Mack is a master politician and has navigated those waters to perfection, and he has the two biggest boosters in his corner.

Why would Saban want to deal with that for equivalent pay? And a much more tolerant and protective culture. He could probably get away with murder in Tuscaloosa. That protectionism doesn't happen in Austin.

Their QB who comes in when it's a blow out now doesn't pass much and I don't think he can. He mostly just runs option stuff when he's in there and rarely passes.
I don't know 100% if he did, it's just the word that trickled down here to TCU to a few of us Norman kids. I may be completely wrong about that, so don't quote me on it. I heard through the grapevine he tore it, left Norman North, and is enrolling at Bama already to start rehabbing and work with their strength and conditioning program. Whether my "sources" have any truth to their word is another story so if I'm completely wrong then I'm going to apologize ahead of time.

No, you're right. I googled it and an article from October came up on an Alabama newspaper's website saying he had knee surgery and is out for the season. He wouldn't discuss it but I'm assuming it's a torn ligament of some kind in his knee.

Pocket listings — where homes aren’t marketed publicly on the MLS — are fairly common in high-end real estate. This tactic was used with Madonna’s L.A. home; Simon Cowell’s house is currently being floated as a $20 million pocket listing; and in January, Barry Bonds’ Beverly Park house hit the market this way as well.
Turns out some high end houses are in fact *not* listed publicly...

Pocket listings are out there, but not very common. There are real estate groups on various social media sites where brokers will list their pocket listings to other Realtors to see if they have clients who are interested before they list the house on the MLS. I typically get 5-10 emails a week from Brokers advertising their company's pocket listings which I then forward to my clients. Pocket listings thrive in Austin because of how hot of a market it is. Pocket listings also give you an idea of how much interest your home has so you can accurately price it.

Bill will be running the front office in some form even when he's done coaching. McDaniels is his heir apparent (though there are plenty of other options). Brady has 3-4 years left and Mallett may or may not still be around by then. It's impossible to tell how it'll all look, but the cupboard won't be bare, that's for sure.
