That hopefully wont happen. Gore is the workhorse for our running game. I would personally extend him, lower his salary and cap number for 2014 and retire a 49er like he should. Some may think that we have great depth at RB but let's look at that depth...Hunter is the backup and is best suited for that role plus he'll be an UFA in a year from now. James was non-existent in our offense. Lattimore is coming off serious and major injuries. If the 49ers release Gore, it would be a horrible move and decision in my opinion. The team can easily carry his salary and cap number for next season by letting other players go. Releasing Rogers would basically lower Gore's salary to $1.35m. Team MUST keep Gore for the final season of his contract or extend him.

As for the rest of the 49ers, im not expecting Whitner, Goodwin, Manningham, Brown, McCoy, Osgood or Wright to be back nor do I want any of them back. Dobbs and Wilhoite are RFA's so I expect them to be on the roster come pre-season.

As for re-signings, im just hoping that Boldin gets re-signed for one year and if Dawson doesnt become Akers in the playoffs, im hoping we re-sign him too even though I wouldnt have a problem with him being replaced by a rookie kicker because Dawson could follow Akers, a great first season, average second season and replaced for the third season. Boldin is the main guy. MUST re-sign him in my opinion. Without Boldin, I dont think that we go better than 8-8 this year.

In regards to players who should get released, Rogers should be first on the list. Cox played well against the Packers in the slot and I personally hope we keep the guy.

Would love C Alex Mack to replace Goodwin and WR Emmanuel Sanders to be our slot receiver but both will be out of our price range. Thankfully, we have plenty of draft picks to replace the players that we're going to lose.

Sorry for the long post.

True but when the 49ers do play their last game this season, I think thats how its going to go player wise or at least I hope thats how it goes.

Corey Webster, Aaron Ross, Brandon Myers, David Baas. Kiwanuka is a possibility as well. Tuck is a FA but I have a hunch they'll be able to work a deal out with him.

I will give you Raji, Perry, Neal, and our 2nd round pick for Orakpo.

IS MALCOLM JENKINS THAT HORRRRRRIBLE?
Holy shithole.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...gent-safeties/

I know PFF isn't perfect with their grades, but.......

Looking for HELP here from STEELER, BENGAL, BILL, PANTHER fans.

Arthur Moats
Jason Worlids
Vincent Rey
Everson Griffen
Michael Mitchell
Bernard Pollard

All these guys are Free Agents, and grade out pretty well to very good from PFF.

#1- how big of $, $$, $$$, $$$$ contracts will it take for these guys?
#2- how would you say they played for your team this year?

I wanted Moats, Worlids, and Griffen when they were drafted.

I Vinny Rey alot and would hate to see him go. He had a good year in backup and would expect a real contract as opposed to the 1 year 600k type deals he had been getting.

He got $2m from us this past year, I was hoping to get him on a 2yr 5m but who knows.

He played pretty well, he'll frustrate you with penalties a few times a year, but in his defense I think he's kind of targeted where if the refs see a close one they call it whereas they won't on others.

He was really the leader of our defense that gave up the fewest TD passes.

For being so physical, he misses tackles from time to time. But I'd still welcome him back on the right contract.

Has anyone else had worse luck with free agent wide receivers than Seattle?

Mitchell will likely demand in the "$$-$$$" range, closer to $$. We singed him a to very cheap, one year deal, but he's locked down his starting spot and has shown why the Raiders decided to reach and draft him in the second. I doubt we let him go though.

That's what I was afraid of.... I thought he's looked pretty good.
Will watch him vs SF closely this weekend.

Worilds was SAD for years, and literally every single on of his sacks prior to this season was him running unblocked in a straight line. He shined here and there this season playing in woodleys spot. He was actually winning some matchups which was nice to see.

To me he is worth about Victor Butler, but thats a pipe dream, he will likely get $$$ money...3-5 million a year. I hope they find a way to keep him just for lack of other options but he is not exactly a world beating pass rusher

Chargers are horrendous at signing wideouts too. David Boston and Robert Meachem's big contracts come to mind. Chris Chambers was a trade and gave us one good year before getting violently stalked by his mistress and disappearing. Eddie Royal basically sat out the first year of his contract but did give us 600 yards this year.

I don't think many Patriots will retire, as the team is rather young, but some starters who could be allowed to leave are Ryan Wendell, Dan Connolly, Brandon Spikes, Aqib Talib, and Steve Gregory; Connolly and Gregory would be cap casualties, while the others are free agents who could sign elsewhere. I wouldn't even rule out Vince Wilfork given the major cap savings the team could gain by releasing him, combined with how well Siliga played late in the season.

The Chiefs signed Steve Breaston and Chris Chambers. I'm not sure anyone else can approach that level of sucktitude.

I'll help out the Seahawks fans: Michael Bennett is leaving SEA to come play with his brother in CHI.

Greg Little and Davone Bess made me want to pull my eyeballs out this year.

Carl Pickens, Yancy Thigpen, David Givens, Eric Moulds, and Randy Moss. These were all pretty much one after another. That's not even mentioning the metric fuckton of WR busts we have drafted.
