Both. Players make plays. And some don't.

That's a joke.

Had the fumble but 1 turnover with over 50 dropbacks is A-OK.

A few misses. The 1 too far with Gray running like he had a load in his diaper down the sideline.

The intentional grounding was mostly on him but it was a Madden create your own play mess to begin with. 2 guys were given a free pass to Smith.

Completed 30 passes. 4 for TDs.
And rushed for 4 first downs.

Almost all while missing Jamaal Charles.

Don't start...just when I was getting to point where I didn't hate the Raiders and their fans.

378 yards passing and 4 TDs with the Chiefs' receiving corps. What more do you want?

This is on the Chiefs coaching staff. An epic failure! It's not like Sutton didn't know that Dunta can't cover anyone and Kendrick Lewis can't tackle. You have to make adjustments. When the only way Indy can beat you is to throw the ball deep, you bring a vanilla pass rush and man-to-man defense in the secondary.

The biggest problem in professional sports is teams let up and it lets the teams right back in the game. How did they get to 38-10? Being extremely aggressive. How did they lose their lead? Being extremely passive.

It seems like teams start to play scared, and the team in the hole fights desperately to make a come back.

I agree with the perfect storm. KC lost not just Jamaal Charles, but then their back up as well. They lost people in their secondary and more or less just got decimated by injuries.

But losing both their RBs was the key. They couldn't run the ball between the tackles and therefore they couldn't hold the ball or burn clock. Sure Luck did a great job taking advantage of the situation and they still needed to score the points, but that come back doesn't happen without those injuries if you ask me.

Yeah really when you have a top 10 QB in the league you have to expect more from Alex Smith.

Sutton failed to adjust, but watching the game again and going over the play by play... This was completely Andy Reid being **** at clock management.

Between being up 38-10 and down 45-44:
Run pass pass punt
Pass pass pass run pass (fumble)
Run pass pass punt
Pass run pass fg
Pass pass pass pass run pass pass punt
Pass run pass pass run pass pass run pass pass fg

Should be noted that Davis didn't get hurt until the last of those drives and that Cyrus Gray isn't as bad as his lack of playing time.

If Charles hadn't gotten hurt, would the Chiefs offense really have been that much better? I don't mean in a general sense, of course any offense is improved by adding Jamaal Charles. I mean in this game specifically.

Would they have scored more than 44 points? If anything it seems like the offense came alive once Charles got hurt, like it galvanized the team and let Reid off the hook, allowing him to call lots of passes without remorse, since his top RB was hurt. Would Alex Smith have played out of his mind if he was handing off to Charles?

It's a double edged sword. If you run out the clock and play conservative and it doesn't work, you get criticized for going away from what scored you 31 in the 1st half.

If you try to score and attack and it doesn't work, then everyone screams "why didn't you run the ball and kill the clock"

You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. The Chiefs lost this game because they couldn't make stops at the end of the game. That's the bottom line.

You can't criticize the offense when they put up 38 points. I don't care how awful they were in the 2nd half, you can't pin it on them. Especially when their 2 RBs left the game and they only turned it over once.

The defense has to make a play. And they didn't. That's all there is to it.

Definitely disagree with that cop-out. Especially since Andy Reid has lost a number of big games throughout his career because of this exact mistake.

There's no "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario by throwing the ball on 75% of your plays after you attained a 28-point lead in the 3rd quarter. The only scenario is "******* stupid".
