Kinda surprised that Mayock has Johnny at #2, I thought he would poke holes in his game for being undisciplined.

My only complaints would be with WR and RB. I'm a big Kelvin fan and would likely have him higher. I would also have Mason and a few other RBs ahead of Andre Williams.

Did Mayock actually pay attention to the draft this year once ND's season went in the tank? This all looks pretty solid, my largest disagreement is Marqise Lee as the #2 WR

Chris Watt #4 OG is a pleasant surprise.

Well, it is surprising how similar it is to those already posted on NFL.com, not a whole lot of variation. However, I'm sure Mayock would be the 1st to tell you, he has just started reviewing film on this past season and will need more time to truly assess this year's crop especially the juniors and the small school prospects. And, I'm sure the Combine and Pro Days will have a significant impact as well.

Long way to go yet before all the pieces are in place.

I still expect a real shake up in the WR position, a heck of a lot of talent there, some is bound to rise up and some may drop by the wayside.

Intersting to me that he doesn't have Stephon Truitt in there at all.

I like Mayock's rankings, not much to pick apart. The one big change I would make would be Jernigan over Nix.

Even though I prefer Manziel to Bridgewater, my bigger issue is Carr and McCaron over Mettenberger.

Ranking Hill as the #2 RB is a little confusing. As a pure talent, he's clearly much better than Hyde, but if you're going to ding him for his character, why only drop him down to #2? Also, Sankey and Williams over Seastrunk and Carey? Can't agree there. I'd leave Hill, Hyde, and Mason and swap in Seastrunk and Carey.

I like his WR group, but I'm not on the Benjamin bandwagon.

I have Robinson over Matthews, and I'd have Tiny in my top 5 OT's.

Can't get behind Nix over Donald or Jernigan.

Don't like Mosley ahead of Barr, and no Van Noy? Surprised by that.

I disagree with his order of the safeties, and I don't think I'd keep Bucannon in my top 5, but the group is solid.

Apart from those issues, I only have niggles. Very solid rankings.

I agree with it for the most part, but there's always a couple that make me chuckle.

The top comedic ones this year are no Ka'Deem Carey, no Van Noy, no Tuitt and Borland being ranked that high. I just don't see anything special with Borland.

Nope. I think I mentioned in a different post that I wasn't high at all on RG3 and that I was very high on Luck.

I would definitely have Mettenberger in my top 5 over McCarron.

I'm pretty happy to see Mayock have Kyle Fuller as his #3 CB. He's been a guy that I really like and to see Mayock give him such high praise is pretty cool.

Marcus Martin from SC is the real deal, quick violent hands, ability to snap and punch, incredible lateral mobility and distribution all in the right places with long arms to boot. If you get a chance watch what he did vs Nix last season in South Bend.

The Carr, McCarron and Mettenberger grouping will need the Combine and pro days to work it all out. Same goes for the grouping of Bridgewater, Manziel and Bortles. Nothing right now is fixed in stone.

Character issues will definitely knock Hill down a bit but he is likely the most talented RB in the draft and Mayock may not of had time to check out how serious Hill's character issues are. I do like Carey a lot but I'm not sold on Seastrunk.

I like his WR group, but I'm not on the Benjamin bandwagon.

I have some concerns for both Evans and Benjamin and am looking forward to the Combine to sort the WR position out as there is a great amount of talent at that position IMO.

I have Robinson over Matthews, and I'd have Tiny in my top 5 OT's.

I am leaning toward Matthews myself but I think it is close.

Can't get behind Nix over Donald or Jernigan.

NT's are very hard to find and there are a lot of 3-4 teams in need of one. Personally, I love Nix, his short area quickness really stands out for me.

Don't like Mosley ahead of Barr, and no Van Noy? Surprised by that.

I think Mosley gets dropped because of past injuries, otherwise I think he is right there with Barr. Not a Van Noy fan, late 2nd rounder to my way of thinking. Mayock definitely has his preferences at certain positions and everybody needs to understand that, Borland likely is an example of that. TE is another area where he shows preferences for TE who can also block.

I disagree with his order of the safeties, and I don't think I'd keep Bucannon in my top 5, but the group is solid.

Mayock was a NFL Safety himself and if he has watched his film which I'm not at all sure he has, he is rarely wrong on Safeties.

Apart from those issues, I only have niggles. Very solid rankings.
I still think Mayock has just started his film review so he will be ready by Combine time. Many of these ranking likely come from talking to his scouting buddies rather than his own opinions.

That's what I thought, too, when I first saw the rankings, but then i watched some more of Hyde's tape and there is some awfully impressive stuff in there. He uses his power very well, taking good angles between defenders and bouncing off of contact. I think he also has some real speed. Don't be surprised if he runs in the 4.4s this weekend. I like his effort and he has a good feel for the bodies around him. I think he deserves to be over Hill, who I also think is a first-round type talent. We're just not used to seeing two big backs like them who run with a lot of power and legitimate breakawy speed in the same draft. I think they're both reasonable candidates to be picked in the first by someone like Miami.

Apparently I need to see more of Hill. I saw a painfully pedestrian power back when I watched LSU.

Going into this season, Cam Cameron had to convince Hill to stop bouncing the ball outside. His combination of quickness and burst allowed him to get by (in fact, do pretty well) as a guy who was always looking to break contain - rather than taking the first three yards. His ability to cutback, accelerate, and run through arm tackles (or over someone) make him extremely difficult to slow. The two comparisons I like best are Larry Johnson and a more powerful, faster Arian Foster.

At the 7:35 mark against Mississippi State, he has a very small hole and a LB waiting in that hole. He shakes the LB on the cutback and runs through his arm tackle, and then shakes/sheds the safety coming to help. And after that, no one gets close. Physical running backs (who don't leave yards on the field), who have great feet and HR ability don't grow on trees. If you take away the power, the feet, or the HR ability, he's not averaging 6.9 YPC on an SEC team.

I'd definitely encourage you to give him another look. He's a fun guy to watch.
