Default My First Ever 7 Round Mock Draft

I like the um.....well....7 rounds is hard for teams you don't know much about I suppose.

27) New Orleans Saints - Zach Martin, OT Notre Dame
30) San Francisco 49ers - Jason Verrett, CB TCU
31) Denver Broncos - Scott Crichton, DE Oregon State
32) Seattle Seahawks - Xavier Su'a-Filo, OG UCLA

SECOND ROUND

42) Tennessee Titans - Dee Ford, OLB Auburn
44) St. Louis Rams - Ryan Shazier, OLB Ohio State

Any of those would have been a better first. Especially Verrett or Martin.

I'd like to start off by giving kudos on writing a full seven mock.

I was with it with the Jets mock until I got to the second third round pick. New Orleans Saints
27) Zach Martin, OT Notre Dame
58) Weston Richburg, OC Colorado State
91) Charles Sims, RB WVU
122) Deion Belue, CB Alabama
155) Cody Latimer, WR Indiana
186) Michael Schofield, OT Michigan

with DB being by far the biggest need it feels kinda weird. Also i really dont know why sims is in there, saints dont just not need a running back, they actively have no roster spot available for one. Also 2 OTs might be a bit overboard.

Id go

1 Zach Martin (although most saints fans will go verrett i think but being a domer i know the awesomeness of zach)
2 Allen Robinson
3 Jimmy Ward
4 Stanley Jean-Baptiste (who i like over belue by a mile)
5 Devin Street
6 Gabe Ikard

Not a bad draft for Miami, but we definitely need help at the LB and S positions as well.

wish you had KC address S far earlier then the 6th round. It is a major need. Loston or Ward in RD 3 would be my preferance

I'm not in love with idea of a wr in the 1st and Donald going in round 2 lol. No way Donald is in play in the 2nd. Top 15 pick, not even sure we can get him at 16 and he's in the 2nd!!??

If Donald is there he's the pick at 16. If not, BPA could come into play and who knows what could happen.

Other than that Kareem Martin over Hubbard in the 3rd.

Nice effort for doing 7 rounds. I don't think the Titans need an OT at 11. Roos still plays at a high level and has a year left on his deal. I suspect they'll ride the year out and maybe try to extend him at some point. At RT, Stewart has been hurt and slowed a lot, I'd look for his replacement. We may have that guy on the roster (Byron Stingily), but I'd look later in the draft or maybe in free agency for another OT. In this scenario, I'd take OT JuWaan James in the 4th, Aaron Donald at 11, and stick with your picks of Dee Ford and Kareen Martin.

Jimmy G in round 7 seems just flat out absurd. He seems more likely to go top of round 2 or end of round 1 than round 7.

Watkins/Carr seems realistic for the Browns, though.

These include C.J. I don't mind the Archer pick honestly....I'd prefer him in round 4 but I also think he'd be utilized in a similar fashion to what Tavon Austin was if we got our hands on him. He'd be a real useful weapon for the team.

Here's my thoughts on the Jets draft....good job regardless on the 7th rounder.

Day 1:

Round 1: I don't mind Beckham Jr one bit at pick 18....but if Ebron's there, give him to the Jets. The TE draft class is less deep than the WR, thus it is pretty vital we get ourselves some sort of TE early here. Not bad regardless.

Day 2:

Round 2: Prefer Von Noy but honestly.....we might re-sign Calvin Pace and I think if we do(We get Barnes back sometime in season too), OLB becomes a day 3 need for the Jets. Still would not mind Von Noy....Attoachu isn't bad but better value with Von Noy if we need an OLB.

If Pace resigns which seems pretty likely, give the Jets best WR....Adams or Benjamin(If we're high on him) or Richardson.

Round 3: So we took one OLB....now we take another? Why? Is Coples getting traded? OLB might not even be that big of a need if we succeed in resigning Pace. Don't get this pick one bit. Give the Jets the versatile Billy Turner who'd be a OT/G for the team. I think that's kinda high for Turner personally but if we don't bring back Howard(Its up in the air) or Colon(Up in the air), we'd need to address the OLine

Round 3: I am fine with Dri Archer but I can see the case for Jarvis Landry or Jimmie Ward here too. I am a big fan of Archer's admittedly though. I really, really hope he's there for the Jets in round 4 though.

Day 3:

Rd 4: Perfect pick. Love it. We need a safety and Reynolds in round 4 is very good value. Reynolds or Bucannon....either one is fine. Reynolds can play FS I figure so better pick for us.

Rd 5: Another strong pick if we haven't gotten a 2nd WR yet....Herron should be a round 4 lock so getting him in middle of round 5 is sweet.

Rd 6: Okay...Okay calm down with the WRs now. I like Camapanaro but we can't draft 3 WRs when we haven't even taken a TE yet. We need WR help but not THIS much. Give the Jets Grimble. Athletic TE who underachieved in college, worth a flier.

Rd 7: I am not in favor for a QB by any means but Brett Smith in round 7 is a worthwhile project to take on. I am for a punter in round 7 but I am not opposed to this one bit.

That being said though Jimmy Garoppolo in round 7.....what the heck? And how do the Jets skip on him there? Did he fail a drug test? Murder puppies?

At this point you give us:
3 WR(We might not even take two if we get ourselves a WR in FA)
2 OLB(Why)
1 RB/KR/WR
1 S
1 QB

No TE, no OLine help, no CB....yeah.

What I would do here:
RD 1: TE Eric Ebron
RD 2: WR Davante Adams(If no Pace, OLB Kyle Von Noy)
RD 3: OT Billy Turner(Its a little high for him but if he's a valued asset and we don't address the OLine in free agency, by all means)
RD 3: RB Dri Archer
RD 4: S Ed Reynolds
RD 5: WR Daniel Herron
RD 6: OT Joel Bitonio(Would signal Turner gets used as a guard)
RD 7: QB Jimmy Garappolo

Have to hope we are active in FA for CBs and that's where we turn our FA attention to.

Great effort on the 7 rounder. I have soured on Tuitt a bit, but that's still a pretty good pick. Paul Richardson would add some explosiveness which we desperately need, but he would be another small receiver for us. Not a bad pick though. Fiedorowicz is a solid pick in the third and all of the late rounders look good too, again nice work on the full mock.

If the Jets drafted Christian Jones, it would be as a middle linebacker.

Not a huge fan of this Eagles mock.

Two things I noticed.

- As much as I love Dion Bailey, he is not a 2nd rounder. He's a tweener at safety/linebacker and doesn't have elite speed or size. Hes more of a 4th/5th guy.

- Jimmie Ward in the 4th I think is underselling him. I see him going 2nd round.

Washington Redskins
34) Marcus Roberson, CB Florida
66) Cyril Richardson, OG Baylor
98) Jimmie Ward, S Northern Illinois
130) Taylor Hart, DE Oregon
162) Terrence Mitchell, CB Oregon
194) Carl Bradford, OLB Arizona State

I dont love the idea of taking a CB in rd2 but I dont hate it either if it is BPA. In this case I wouldnt consider Roberson BPA though. I do like the Cyril and Ward picks but I'd be disappointed overall if we came out of this draft without taking ain ILB somewhere. Would also like to see a young playmaker at WR or RB.

Nightmare first two rounds for Minnesota. McCarron is not a second round QB. Dennard is a reach in the top ten, but we missed out on the three QBs so I guess I can buy it.

Props on 7 though.

I love you, this is truly a thing of beauty for SF. You made me happy for a couple minutes. By far my favorite mock for SF this entire year!!

Gilbert and hageman would be AMAZING. If they could land Moncrief instead of thomas in the 4th id cry with joyous tears

I do not see the draft falling like this--you have some players higher than they will go and others lower. But if it did fall this way, this is how I see the Saints picks:

1. Brandin Cooks, WR
2. Morgan Moses, OT
3. Jimmie Ward, S
4. Stanley Jean-Baptiste
5. Prince Shembo, OLB *** This is the only pick I could not see us making because of the off-the-field concerns. But you cannot question the talent and we took Carl Nicks, another talented but questionable character player, in this same spot.
6. Jimmy Garoppollo, QB
