I'm convinced the pick will be between Dennard, Gilbert, Roby or Beckham. Fuller and Ebron are darkhorses.

I think 6-0 is average. Most WRs are about 6-0/6-1

Big WRs suck until you find one that doesnt

Quick mock entertaining the trade down scenario with San Francisco. We give the 15th and 118th pick, they give us the 30th, 56th, 94th, and 170th pick. Trade values are 1108 for us and 1107.4 for them, about as close as it can get.

1.30 - CB Jason Verrett, TCU - Not a lot of guys I like at the end of the 1st, but I do like him
2.46 - NT Louis Nix, Notre Dame - Get our NT for the future
2.56 - DE Stephon Tuitt, Notre Dame - Finish rebuilding the D-line, at least on paper
3.94 - WR Martavis Bryant, Clemson - Josh Gordon-like athlete, we've had success with 3rd round WRs
3.97 - DE/OLB Jackson Jeffcoat, Texas - We need OLB depth
5.157 - OG Brandon Thomas, Clemson - Injured himself in workouts, will fall, but he's talented
5.170 - RB Devonta Freeman, Florida State - Haley likes RBs with dreadlocks, also need depth
5.173 - OT Seantrel Henderson, Miami - Why not? Huge guy, huge potential, later pick
6.192 - S Brock Vereen, Minnesota - ST pick, mainly
6.215 - CB Shaquille Richardson, Arizona - Good physical tools, project player
7.230 - P Pat O'Donnell - Desperately need a punter

That trade vaule chart needs to be adjusted....cause after the rookie cap, it doesn't hold the same value now.

From the remaining free agents, all of which will probably only be looked at until after the draft, I'd be interested in:

TE Jermichael Finley - it's all about the medical clearance
TE Dustin Keller - bad injury, but would come very cheap

OG Travelle Wharton - one of the best last year, but is old.

C Fernando Velasco - bring him back for cheap

OLB Anthony Spencer - experience in 3-4, old and cheap
OLB James Harrison - same as above

ILB Pat Angerer - injury prone tackle machine, but nothing special

DE Brett Keisel - we need depth, I'd have liked to move on, but we have nobody

S Steve Gregory - we already have the safety group pretty full, with two starters and a young guy to develop, but he was pretty good, and he'd be cheap

I'm still holding the draft game this year.

2 points for having the right pick in the right round
1 point for having the player right but in different round
.5 for UDFA signing

Our schedule for next year looks deceptively tough to me, even though the strength of schedule isn't very high.

Easy games:
W1 - vs. Cleveland
W4 - vs. Tampa Bay
W5 - @ Jacksonville
W6 - @ Cleveland

Normal Games:
W7 - vs. Houston
W8 - vs. Indianapolis
W10 - @ New York Jets
W11 - @ Tennessee

Tough Games:
W2 - @ Baltimore
W3 - @ Carolina
W9 - vs. Baltimore
W13 - vs. New Orleans
W14 - @ Cincinnati
W15 - @ Atlanta
W16 - vs. Kansas City
W17 - @ Cincinnati

I could easily see either (or both) Houston and Indianapolis turning into tough games. I could also see Kansas City not being as tough a game as it appears to be right now.

I think they split with BMore and Cincy again. With Carolina not having a decent OL and no WRs, I don't think they'll be as tough, though that front 7 is legit.

I'm more comfortable with the Nawlins game that it is at Heinz.
