Nice win by Diaz, but I don't see how people favor him over GSP. There's no way you're just going to take a bunch of shots to corner GSP into the cage. GSP is great at making sure there is a bunch of space and being a hard target to hit. Diaz on the other hand has some really ****** striking defense. He uses his great chin as defense, and as great as that works for him it won't help against GSP. GSP won't get tired and become an easy target. GSP also is a much more crisp striker with more reach than Diaz, so he WILL outbox him and not take any damage. If Diaz gets in too many shots he'll take him down and work him over on the ground. Diaz's guard is very active and good, but GSP's top control is second to none, and going for subs is going to give GSP more openings to really hammer him on the ground like he did to BJ. Georges is really going to hurt Diaz, and it's not going to be close at all. You're talking about one of the best fighters of all time going against a brawler with heart and cardio. That **** is not going to fly against a guy who is the smartest fighter in MMA.

Diaz showed incredibly improved TDD technique in the BJ Penn fight, but GSP is a lot bigger than BJ, and Diaz doesn't have the reach advantage he's used to (they're both 76", but Diaz is taller which gives him an advantage).
I've always felt this fight will be GSP taking Diaz down and laying on him for 5 rounds, but if Diaz can keep it standing, things could get interesting.

Diaz is incredibly hard to finish though. He's got one of the best chins in MMA, so to beat him it'll have to be by cuts or the doctor in between rounds. Of course that chin could crack one day if he's not careful. Look at Leben, Chuck, and Wand. Guys had chins of stone, but after a while that damage adds up.

Hopefully this means he will have a bit more cardio in fights. I like the move, but he is still going to be wrestle-****** by the wrestlers in the division.

I actually wanted to see Rumble fight Diaz, Condit, or Alves, but moving up could be good for him. The big thing with him is injuries though. Maybe the move can help him out with his durability.

Let me start off with no ****.
There are pictures circulating of akiyama and he looks like hes taking his cut to 170 really seriously. He looks a bit gaunt but for the most part healthy and sexy as ever.
Does anyone know if he has any rumored opponent yet? Im really looking forward to seeing if he can do well at 170 with his judo, power, and overall sexy.

I've definitely ragged on him before but damn Mark Munoz might have the most vicious gnp in MMA. Dude just rips punches from up top. If he fights Bisping assuming Bisping beats Miller which is a big if I definitely think Munoz can beat Bisping and get a title shot. Although Leben has slow and clunky standup Munoz looks improved in standup, one major flaw is that he constantly exposes his neck and relies too heavily on his submission defense.

Leben was definitely better when they were standing, but he made the same error that Edwards did earlier in the night of pressing a grappler and then letting them grab him once it got to the wall.
Sucks that Leben got cut because that was going to be a war.

Leben was pretty much gassed out though and wouldnt be able to stop the takedowns and clinches. It was probably a combo of Leben not being in great shape and those brutal body shots.

Munoz vs. Bisping/Miller would be a good one. If it's against Bisping it would be nice to see Bisping dealing with that wrestling. The dude has been really protected in his UFC career, and it's about time he fights some top guys for a change. Mayhem is a good fighter, but it's time Bisping fights the elite. Maybe he'll win, or he'll get brutally knocked silly again by the Donkey Kong ground and pound. I'd love to see that happen since I hate Bisping with a passion.
If Mayhem wins then it would be nice to see him in the UFC mix. Munoz is moving up, and he needs to stay active against solid fighters and/or contenders. I don't think that Munoz is ready for a shot, but considering Anderson has beaten pretty much everyone someone has to get the shot if he gets past Chael again and doesn't move up or retire.

Munoz is great, but his wrestling in the UFC has been pretty sub par so far. I think I read somewhere that his takedown percentage is only like 23%, which for a guy who is fairly rudimentary on the feet would be concerning against a striker with good takedown defense. Bisping isn't the greatest wrestler, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him avoid a Munoz takedown.

Akiyama can't fight in the UFC, and all those muscles wear him out quickly.
He made a lot of money from Dana White, just needs to retire.

I think Munoz could get Bisping down eventually. His takedowns are pretty ****, but he's getting better at taking them while guys are against the fence so it's easier. I still don't get why his takedowns are so bad when he won a NCAA title.

Miller would tap Munoz. Munoz would have his way with Bisping. Munoz really is a mediocre fighter. His takedowns just aren't that effective. Most of his takedowns against Leben were Leben letting him take him down because he had a choke sunk in. Against Maia, Maia pretty much let him take it to the ground, too.
Munoz is sloppy. Sloppy wrestler, sloppy striker, sloppy ground game, et al. Seems like they're kind of building him up to make a title run for some reason. At which point, he'll get destroyed.
